I agree that the quality of FF games have been pretty poor but a lot of posters are missing the point of the tech demo. Its only purpose is to show of the technology that square will be using in terms of graphics. If you want gameplay and story quit complaining and wait for a trailer
Some FF games have had actual guns, not AKs, but what we would recognize as guns. VII and X come to mind. Hell, all of Vincent's guns were based off of real firearms except his best gun and the one joke weapon everyone got.ForgottenPr0digy said:

Maybe one day S-E will start yelling more gameplay and story.
I dropped FF pretty hard after 10 (8 was God awful and 9 was just far from my thing), then I dropped S-E after playing Parasite Eve 3rd Birthday(what,was,that?!). I don't know how people still look to S-E expecting anything good anymore. I'm sure they can one day make something great again but till they stop pouring into visuals and put some thought into the whole game aspect it's going to be the same crap over and over.

At first I was very excited by this video, but by the end, I saw a gigantic shiny city and remembered one of the reasons I hated FF13.

Release groundbreaking game - Release two iffy games - repeat.
FF7 - everyone loved
FF8/FF9 - lukewarm reception
FF10 - EVERYONE loved
(FF11 doesn't count... MMO)
FF12/FF13 - people didn't like as much
(FF14 doesn't count... MMO)
If this is FF15, then it might be good again!
Just remember, 16/17 won't stand up to 15's level. But if they don't make another MMO, we'll see FF18 being quite amazing.

Oh of course, need more info to make a certain decision. But chanting with masked goons over a summoning circle just screams "please stab him quickly" to me. Ok sweet, the tech demo looks amazing.
Now all they have to do is make the gameplay look that good, and they'll have reached their quota!

I'm pretty sure that FF7 is in the top 5 list of "HOLY SHIT IF THEY REMADE THIS WITH CURRENT GEN GRAPHICS, I WOULD SELL MY SOUL AND CHILDREN" for a lot of people, even people that aren't FF fanboys.SickBritKid said:
