Wait they're charging full price for modern warfare 3?
You'll be hard pressed to find a store that isn't. Well, to be honest, the price point of Modern Warfare 3, like MW2 and Black Ops before it, is actually higher than that of most games - At least in the UK.

Thing is at 5 for a hundred you're essentially getting one 20 buck gift card for each game and Amazon and Walmart now both routinely give 10-20 buck gift cards with pre-order. So its a Solid deal if you legitimately want 5, but if you even just wanted 4 and stretched for a fifth, you're probably better off with a mixture of amazon and walmart.

There are only 4 games on that list that I really want...and only 3 that I'd get on day one. I wonder if it counts if I were to preorder multiple copies of one or two of those games...Still, it isn't a bad deal.

[sub]the captcha got weird...no I will not play that video to reveal the code[/sub]

Looking at the list...

Will buy, day 1, may as well preorder:
- Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
- Batman Arkham City
- Elder Scrolls Skyrim
- Assassin's Creed: Revelations

Might buy:
- Rage
- Gears of War 3
- Battlefield 3

You know, it might be worth blowing $50/$60 on one of the mights just to get that $100 card.

But what is this 'Reward Zone' nonsense? How does that work???

Well, I'm planning on picking up Zelda, Batman, and Ass Creed, but I'm not sure I want to buy another two games just to get Best Buy store credit.
If you did spend 120$ on those other 2 then you would only actually spend 20$ on two games, its not a bad deal

Fuck, I was only planning on getting 4 of them, 3 were definite pre-orders. If only Mass Effect 3 was offered...

Best Buy has announced that if a) you're a Reward Zone member and b) you pre-order (and buy) five upcoming games, you'll get $100 in credit to use on whatever you want. There are fifteen eligible titles for the deal; here's the complete list of games:
Forza 4, Skyrim, AssCreed, that's it. :-\ Rage and Batman can wait till they're cheap.

It says if you preorder and buy.

No profit for you.

Will never pre-order anything from Best Buy again. I pre-ordered a Collector's Edition of Cataclysm and it was a *nightmare.*

Long story short, despite having a receipt and having paid extra at time of pre-order, the cashier tried to force me to take a regular. She then refused to get me a manager until I refused to move from her line for a good 20 minutes. When the manager did finally show, he tried telling me they couldn't give it to me either. After another 15 minutes of arguing he finally handed one over, then called security to escort me out of the store "for causing trouble"...Because I totally should have just let them keep the game I paid for for themselves, right?

Never going there again.

My little brother wanted Black Ops for Christmas, it was £45 when every single other game that was out around that time was £40

Huh. So spend roughly $300 to get an additional $100 that's only valid in their stores?

Pass.

Besides, Best Buy is a terrible retailer to shop at from a competitive pricing standpoint.
My thoughts exactly. It would be worth it if tht $100 was good for more than 1.4 games. Everything is basically completely over priced there. Far from my favorite retailer. I mean, you can get all those games for cheaper on Amazon, then you can turn around and use your savings to buy a bunch of different items, wherever you want. And, you'll have spent less overall, which the Best Buy deal has you paying top dollar for everything, then getting some store credit.

PS. This new capcha system has me pissed. I had to actually watch an advertisment to post this comment, not good escapist.

So you're saying that if you were planning to buy those 5 games, you would buy them somewhere else and NOT get the $100? You are a financial whiz, good sir. Unless you can find a place that sells the games for under $40 new, Best Buy is going to be the cheapest option.

You sign-up, you get a little card that they scan on each of your purchases, and every now and then they mail you a $5 gift certificate. Basically it's a free program to try and encourage people to shop there instead of Circuit City or other competitors, and that conspiracy nuts love to be paranoid about (because zomg they need your address and they put it into a computer *Horror*).

Out of those, Rage is the only one I'm planning on getting (maybe Resistance 3 and Uncharted 3 if I ever get around to playing the current ones and like them), and I already preordered it off D2D for about $45. Oh, and the only time I preordered something from Best Buy (New Vegas), they delivered it a week late, and gave me the wrong preorder bonus with it (the game sucked, too, but I guess I can't blame that one on them). So, sorry Best Buy, but I'm already done with you...

I bet gamestop is kicking themselves right now.
Then again, that?s about $100 for $300 in purchases. Perhaps gameslop is just puzzled that anyone would offer such a deal.
I?m not sure I?ll take advantage: I don?t like pre-ordering... What if the game is total crap? This deal would make it so at least one crappy game isn?t a big loss but more than that and you?re no longer profiting. Besides, I?m interested in a couple of these and my wife is interested in a couple of these, so I?m not sure what the 5th would be. If there were 5 we definitely wanted, this would be a really sweet deal.
They should make it more like a long running thing rather than 5 games off this list.

That's not how it works.

You need to pre-order 5 games, not 2 to get the bonus.
