yeah... that's pretty limited choice. I mean, yaeh, 2 of those are worth getting for me, but all the others are tripe.
And no bestbuys are around me.

It says pre-order AND buy. So no, unfortunately they saw that one coming.Jabberwock xeno said:Couldn't one just pre-order 5, then return the ones they don't want immedatly after they come out?
Well by that logic then you're still a sucker. Why buy it at $40 when you could wait until $20? Why buy it at $20 when you can probably get it for free eventually? Perhaps my point should have specified "on day one". If you already had every intention of buying 5 of those games on day one, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better deal than this one.DeadlyYellow said:Surprisingly, a lot of places will sell them under $40 new. You just need to wait a year or so. These are a luxury item afterall, not a necessity. With a little time, they will all drop in price until they are somewhere more reasonable (typically $10 to $40) for a new copy.WhiteTigerShiro said:So you're saying that if you were planning to buy those 5 games, you would buy them somewhere else and NOT get the $100? You are a financial whiz, good sir. Unless you can find a place that sells the games for under $40 new, Best Buy is going to be the cheapest option.
Because we all know that Microsoft and Sony franchises have never been guilty of this.Well, except Skyward Sword. Being a Nintendo Publication, it will never drop its debut price.
Well, you could still buy them, then go back the next day...Coldster said:It says pre-order AND buy. So no, unfortunately they saw that one coming.Jabberwock xeno said:Couldn't one just pre-order 5, then return the ones they don't want immedatly after they come out?
Apparently not enough to draw my attention. Sony, because frankly I can't point out many games I know to be published by of the SCE branches. Two do spring to mind, but they were twenty and thirty dollars when I bought my new copies, and more recently offered for free as part of the PSN's Welcome Back program. Go figure.WhiteTigerShiro said:Because we all know that Microsoft and Sony franchises have never been guilty of this.Well, except Skyward Sword. Yeah, I guess, but it would seem mighty suspicious. Oh well, if you wanna try it then go ahead and see if it works.Jabberwock xeno said:Well, you could still buy them, then go back the next day...Coldster said:It says pre-order AND buy. You're right. I typed four for some reason. Probably because I'm still not really sold on Arkham City.Father Time said:That's 5 games.DustyDrB said:And I'm planning on getting exactly four of those (Skyward Sword, Uncharted 3, Assassin's Creed: Revelation, Skyrim, and Arkham City).
This is truth all around.SemiHumanTarget said:Normally, I would dismiss this as a clear cash grab on Best Buy's part. Giving you a hundred bucks that you have to spend in their store anyway is a small price to pay for locking you in to purchase 300$ worth of stuff from them.
But, this may be the first time in history that there are actually five upcoming games I would feel good about pre-ordering.
By the way, to anyone that thinks giving away store credit is a charitable thing for a company to do, let me say this: I worked at Best Buy years ago, and store credit and gift cards are a huuuuge part of their business. Why? Because studies show people with store credit/gift cards almost always spend more than the amount allotted on those cards. ie, somebody who walks in with a 100$ gift card is liable to actually end up purchasing 130-150$ worth of goods.
