I got The Darkness from Gamestop for five bucks. Because I had one of those point-coupon things, I got the game for free.

And when I played it, I experienced something I had never felt before: The Darkness made me care about an NPC. Not because she was relevant to the plot, or it was an escort mission, we were just cuddled up on a couch, watching To Kill A Mockingbird, and she kissed me. Well, my character. It was immersive.

By contrast, the only reason I chose the family end in Fable 2 was to get my dog back.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence between $5-$20

I was on a family vacation in Seattle when I passed a game shop and figured that a game would be a better momento than a t-shirt. Luckily I brought my PS2 along and proceeded to play it as soon as I could and got myself killed many times as I tryed to play it Sam Fisher style. I soon got better and look upon it as one of the top 5 PS2 games i own.

Well, I didn't buy it because I already had it, but I found Half-Life 2 for $2.5 once. Made me a little bit sad, really.

I just bought Batman Arkham Asylum for A$20. Not quite as cheap as some people seem to be getting games for, but when it came out it was $120!

Gex 3 for the Nintendo 64 for $5 is the only game I got from a "bargain bin" back in the early '00s. It was still a good deal.

I also got great deals from the Steam Summer Sale, including an indie 3D platformer called Caster for $1, but those aren't from a "bin".

perfectly even split between finding Half Life 2 for the Xbox for $10 some time before the Orange Box was released and getting Saints Row 2 for $20 this past April or May

If it counts, I got FF9 from the PSN store for $10. Fantastic game that was.

If it doesn't count, then a physical copy Mass Effect 1 for $15. Although I had the game before and decided to buy it again after playing through ME2 a couple of times.

I purchased Dead Rising 2 brand new for about $13 (AUD). Oh, and I got Saints Row 2 quite some time ago for about $8.

3 PC games for 19,80 euros:
Just Cause 2 (for the fun factor)
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat (sequel to the original that I played)
Medal of Honor (a bit meh, but OK at times)

Just Cause 2 is a game that I return to once or twice every week and have a fun time blowing up stuff, doing insane stunts etc.. It gets repetitive and a bit dull if you play it constantly, but as I play it only on occasion, I see it as a nice trip away from the more story, character and atmosphere focused games that I usually play. So the price of 6,60 euros for that one game was a really good deal in my opinion.

Evil Genius, 10 bucks.

HOLY CRAP

Work, my minions, work.

The game itself is deeply flawed, HOWEVER, it is the best management simulation I've ever played. It is genius. Evil genius. I have enormous fun just running up a buttload of cashmoney, either with an exploit or an outright cheat, and designing amazing bases and complex trap systems.
