Bethesda "Disappointed" There's No PS3 Skyrim DLC Yet

Nobody should be forced to pay the same for an obviously inferior product. If Bethesda wants the same money from PS3 owners as Xbox and PC owners, it's their job to provide a product that's just as good as the asking price of those systems.

Maybe I'm just being naive, but I like to think they're trying to make sure we avoid the various game-breaking issues that plagued the original release.

More importantly, why haven't they brought the voice features from 360 to PC? It's not like PC users don't have microphones they could use.

P.S. Thanks
Microsoft still need to sell all of those 360+Kinect bundles to justify making that useless thing, so i wouldn't count on the PC version getting any official voice support. There's that, though: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=r2gVZpaE1Ks

Seems like they really messed up the PS3 version of Skyrim. They are going to lose money over this, since by the time they'll actually release it, I bet a lot of PS3 Skyrim players would rather play other games.

I'd be upset if I weren't already sick of the game and had already decided I didn't want this. I keep forgetting it isn't on PS3 yet.

This is one of the reasons for why you don't show favourites when it comes to platform DLC. They should have held back the Xbox 360 and PC versions and released them all at the same time.

Not just to avoid pissing off certain sections of the consumer base, but also to make sure the quality is up to an acceptable standard. As the Xbox version of DawnGuard is incredibly buggy, with any luck the PS3 owners will get to play it without all the little issues, which might make it worth the wait.

Well, at the same time it's not really fair to hold back other platforms because one of them is unusually hard to work with. While people seem to be getting use it it, working with the PS-3 has reportedly been a complete pain in the rear from the very beginning. It doesn't surprise me that it's taking longer than the other platforms.

On a lot of levels I'd blame Sony rather than Bethesda, and hope their next gen game box is easier to work with.

That said, having waited for many a game in my time, I can sort of feel the pain. I have a PS3 and 360, but primarily do gaming on my PC, and that's what I play Skyrim on, so in my case I just got passed over by the 360 version.

I see patching and DLC is still the worse thing to happen to gaming...as most who can do it right don't....

Hence why I don't plan on buying Dawnguard anymore. Or really any Bethesda product for a while.

Bethesda, screwing over PS3 customers...
And this is new?

Something like half of the DLC in TES4:O was cut out of the 'GOTY/5th Anniversary' for PS3 owners.

Why?
Because Bethesda is run by cunts, that's why.

I think we would all like to believe that. However, when the DLC in question released at the beginning of June (so source code is to a point deemed acceptable for launch and now it is just a matter of porting) and now it is almost September with no word or release window even announced is where things begin to break down. Especially when a second DLC is announced it kind of comes off like a big "fuck you, we don't care" to the angered consumer base. But that is just speculation, the real "fuck you, we don't care" comes from the fact that when pressed about the issue by a consumer the answer received isn't even an answer but instead a statement that they are disappointed as well. That is like going to work knowing you haven't finished a report or going to class without your homework and when the boss/instructor asks where it is you say "I'm sorry, I'm disappointed in me too." Didn't they just finish jumping all over Interplay for basically the same situation concerning a Fallout MMO?

Guess whose Games I'm going to be buying Used from now on. If they are going to screw over PS3 users (like me) then I just wont give them my money.

Oh and I'll be getting the GOTY editions used. because they aren't getting my DLC money either.

There are two things to think of before any complaints should be hurled at bethesda.

1. there isn't really a pc and and xbox version, they are basically the same thing, the delay between the two release dates, is likley to be making the difference, i.e pc specific options.

2. the ps3 is horrid to code for. if it takes twice as long to code for ps3 as pc/xbox then you would expect the ps3 1st dlc soon. and im assuming they would rather take longer to make it, without having to spend the next one or two months trying to fix game breaking bugs.

True, neither of these take all the responsiblity from betheda. however it does explain why it is longer for their dlc.

tbh, it could just be that they cannot be bothered, as its easier to code for one, and get 2 results. but you know, you choose the reason you want.

(i got it on pc btw)

It's really hard to have a good conversation about this.

1) 360 fanboys arguement that a console that is over a half decade old can't be coded on, while every major publisher outside of bethesda seems to find ways to get dlc out the same day over multiple platforms.

2) it's hard to find pete hines story and excuses legit while he has xbox360 plastered across his chest on his twitter account picture.

It'll be like fallout 3, the last big one bethesda did. All dlc to 360 first long before it comes out for ps3. The sad thing is, for all the rage, dawnguard wasn't worth $20, and not worth the energy put into the debate. If Bethesda doesn't want your money, find a publisher that does.

...Just buy it for PC already. Its just wrong to buy a Bethesda game for a console anyway. Full price for half the game.

I'm trading mine in as soon as I get a day off and time to do so.

I'll buy the goty edition when it inevitably comes out used just to get my cake and eat it too. Fuck you, Bethesda

I like that line of, "People want to buy stuff from you." Yes, I would like to give you money for a product please. I wonder if we'll get it at a discount since we've waited so long?

Sigh.

Microsoft paid Bethesda to stagger delivery of DLC. Deliver is staggered. How can we trust that this is a problem in development and not simply 'Good customer service' if you know what I mean.

When MS is getting what they paid for, it's hard to trust Bethesda on this.

I got a question.

Why do you idiots keep buying Bethesda games off a PS3? Sometimes I feel like the only logical person here where I just buy the 360 version or PC for modding sake.

It's obvious Bethesda has difficulties making PS3 ports. Hell Its been obvious since the PS3 version of Oblivion. Yet you continue to buy it and Fallout 3 and Skyrim, and yet your still sitting raging and crying at your keyboards.

You get a Bethesda game for either Xbox 360 or PC. It's that simple. Otherwise, it's your own fault for being idiots once again on buying something from a company that obviously have trouble porting a game on. Just ask From Software on how their PC port of Dark Souls went.
I've got it for PS3 and I consider myself to be of average intelligence, most of the time. Personally, I'm running Linux on a laptop which wouldn't be good enough to run Skyrim even if it had windows on it. Also, my Xbox crapped out a year or two ago and I don't want to waste money on a replacement when a new console cycle is on the horizon. Yes, I'm a cheap bastard.

I have all my Bethesda games on PS and really, they aren't so bad, if you get lucky. Only really had frame rate issues and some minor bugs.
