I remember first playing Oblivion on my friend's new 360. I was mindblown at how nice it looked, but there were elements of the engine, particularly animations, that broke the immersion for me. Maybe a new engine from the ground up will sort out the bugginess that has plagued their releases.

November can't come soon enough. I think I'll freeze myself until then. Though I'd be better of staying unfrozen and working to save up the cash I'll need to get my PC to run it. I bet the requirements will be steep. Though I just got a new GTX 460 so that may handle it. Trouble is to upgrade my PC further I'd need a new Motherboard, and therefore CPU and RAM all at once.

If it's not as glitchy and buggy as Bethesda's Gamebryo was, then I'm certainly happy to not tinker and mess around on it after 4 years since Oblivion.

Time for a very needed upgrade for my PC. I'm still using my good ol' Pentium D and that damned thing can handle almost anything I throw at it, but I'd like to get, at the very least (without buying an entirely new mobo) a quad core CPU.

Great news, I'm not bothered by the Oblivion graphics and my opinion they have aged rather well but improved graphics is one of the things I'm really hoping for with Skyrim.

Can't say I'm surprised. The Gamebryo Engine was discontinued and put up for sale shortly after New Vegas was made.

I pity the person who buys it more than I pity the creators. It was a horrible engine (It looked bad when Fallout 3 was made, New Vegas was pushing it.)

As positive as they're making that sound, I'm not convinced this is good news. They did much the same type of "upgrade" from Morrowind to Oblivion and in the process cut out plenty of weapon types and, though I'm not sure, it seems that Oblivion had far less enemy types. If they're making a whole new engine, I fear what else they'll cut out. This also means I have even less chance of getting a PC version, since their new graphics will no doubt require a computer somewhere in the deity level of power. Ah, I'm still excited for it, and I'm still gonna get it, I'm just mighty suspicious of this new engine they're propping up.

I remember when Oblivion was released it had the nicest graphics ever. I thought it can't get any better than that. And now they're saying that it will look like it's made for a next generation of consoles?!!! I can't even imagine such quality. I hope that I wont have to upgrade my PC. If the game will run on consoles then I guess I should be able to play it on my PC cause it's like 3 times stronger than both PS3 and Xbox 360.

Looks like good news to me; while Oblivion's engine was rather modest, Bethesda handled it well so that it looked prettier than most other games out at the time.

I just hope that they keep some sort of Elder Scrolls Construction Set/G.E.C.K for the next game; if there's one thing I've loved about Bethesda's stuff it's the epic mods that always accompany them.
