it might work on a 360 but not on a PS3 (since Sony might get scared of Piracy or something)

the problem is that installing a mod on a console can be very difficult, some installations of mods can fuck up a pc imagine what they can do to a xbox or ps3.

Heed my words Bethesda. Come up with a system that prevents certain things put onto the consoles.
I think a system where Bethesda uploads user created mods would be the answer.

I could mod in full level scaling Oblivion style, presumably?

YES

Do it. Unreal Tourney 3 did it on PS3, you can to!

They're going to have to create an extensive sandbox program that's useable from the XBOX and PS3, which I admit, will be pretty cool.

Any other way they might try that I can think of wouldn't sit well with Microsoft and Sony.

maybe they could make the mod available on pc so you can download it to a usb then plug that into a 360 or ps3? (still debating which to get)

i reckon the problem will be with micro$oft since they will insist on charging people for the mods and that could potentially become a legal nightmare. Sony not so much

Maybe this will work on PSN, but no way in hell does MS allow this to happen without charging for something, anything.
>.> They already are charging. In fact, I think the PSN will be more likely to charge for it since Microsoft already has paid servers to load and handle the storing and downloading of all the mods.

Hopefully Sony will allow it (meaning I can use mods), this will cause MS to have the now inferior version on 360, perhaps swaying them into also allowing mods.

In other words, hopefully competition will drive both console versions of Skyrim to be able to use mods.

Seriously though.... Skyrim = The final blow to my so called life.

90% of Oblivion players were playing on consoles!?!

That blows my mind for some reason. I guess it shouldn't. But wow. Did not expect that.

Anyway... I guess I don't mind lowly console gamers getting a few scraps of PC greatness... (just kidding! I really think this is a great idea!!)

As someone who will be playing it on the PC, this is a good thing. With PC and console games continuing to merge together, it's quite alarming the trend we have moving away from extensive and free user created content to pay for DLC. We need to push the free goodness onto the console as well, or risk having the likes of Bobby Kotick win the day and all the free stuff we enjoy on PC becomes pay to play as well.

And yeah I really doubt Oblivion players were 90% on console, not sure what they're trying to pull with those numbers.

I really hope this works out. But MS probably wont let it fly, just like how Valve cant get steam on the 360

really? Our consoles are basically computers... but we can't hook up a kb and mouse and mod to our hearts' content? Fuck you too!

Would you not be able to use graphic mods or some of the more 'intense' weapons and quest mods? I thought they stretched the consoles to their graphical limits already with 'dat new engine they have there, and I doubt a double-res texture pack would work out so well.

But, If they're successful in this venture, how will they make money off of Horse Armor?
They just restrict the level of modding you can do, which isn't really modding.

I suspect such a venture would just end up as a glorified level editor.
What he seems to be talking about is not modding on the console but letting the PC mods be installed on consoles.
That's bullshit. So, the PC modders do all the work so some console guys get their free downloads?

Plus, would that even work? I doubt the PC and console versions are exactly the same.
