Fallout 3, I mean look at Fallout 1&2, Fallout 3 was just lazy-.- The "final boss" was so uninteresting, it was just... that guy. How cool is that? "Oh yeah the final boss is... That guy."

Batman Arkham Asylum, the Joker. Seriously...no reall fight. Just thugs and you pull him into the ground while he's distracted?
Yep. This is the one that sticks out most in my mind in recent memory. What a let down. Thankfully the rest of the game is superb.

Mass effect 2 : A terminator reaper that is immobile.
Borderlands : A big squid thing that is immobile.
Whats next? You have to find a flute to wake the boss up so you can fight it?

Fable 1, Fable 2, Gears 2 and Final Fantasy 9. The battle was good in FF9 but seriously who the hell was the last guy

Final boss in Viking: Battle for Asgard. Everything about that fight and the game's ending makes me want to rage uncontrollably, especially since it sullies an otherwise really cool game.

MW2's final "boss" was sort of sad, but so was MW1's. In both you don't really get to do anything, just watch for a while, and then theres a quicktime-eventish thing at the end and it's over >>.
I liked that, and thought it made it really epic. It's true that it didn't have much to do with skills, but sometimes you would just like to watch some bad-assery being unleashed.
It's hard to make a good Boss in a FPS anyways, especially if they're trying to keep it on a realistic level.

My biggest let down has to be Joker from Arkham Asylum. Of course, I didn't expect any close fistfights with him, as that would have been a tad too easy for Batman. But they should have done it another way

I'll go with Halo 3, Half Life 2, and Zelda: Wand of Gamelon (where it seems the final boss is defeated within 10 seconds of meeting him).

Also, no offence TC, but I saw this same topic last week I think.
That boss fight was fucking awful... I couldn't believe it when they threw more bloody thugs at me. So disappointing.

Also, Alan Wake's final confrontation is rather anti-climactic.

General Shepard in Modern Warfare 2. You tossed a knife at him, and you could throw it at the ground and it would get him in the chest....

Dragon Age: Origins, I expected to fight the Maker. Now seriously: Fallout 3, a guy in a coat with a pistol (you were probably wearing PA, and laser weapons).
Why would you fight the Maker?

I was let down by that fight too, but only because it was too easy.

Those bolt throwers just make it too simple, and I think you have to use them to get him back in range right?

I've noticed alot of bosses now are easier and more "lets just wrap up the story". Like MW2. I wouldn't call it a final boss, but then it's hard to have a final boss in an FPS like that. Fallout 3, yeah that was a bit of a joke. I managed to kill him and his two guards in a single VATS.

The ME2 final boss was a nice idea, but should've been alot harder really. He was just about figuring out a pattern, and no boss should be like that imo.

I don't think anyone has said this, which is suprising, but assassins creed 2, it's a punch up with a fat bloke in a dress. Once you knock him down to half health you can grab hold of him, removing what little difficulty there already was, and plus, it's a fat man, how can I take it seriously?

Hammer X to win. That was seriously it. I was so dissapointed with the boss fights in that game, because the rest of the game was so good.

Borderlands, the final boss was probably the worst boss battle I have ever done.

All it is is stand behind a pillar and shoot at it when it isn't attacking, which would be fine if it didn't have enough health that I burned through all of my ammo on it.
yeah i seem to remember respeccing my soldier so the turret gave him ammo, took a heavy gunner MOD and away i went, half afk just blasting with a machien gun with 150 ammo. Even on hard its just boring.
Fable 2 was abysmal aswell

To be quite honest, i think MW2 can't really have a final boss per say, its meant to be quite realistic (within reason) and i thought considering it was designed as a multiplayer game that they did a really good job of the story. they could of had a few more juggernauts in it like considering that stronghold was meant to be the main operating base for his operations

Trine. The game was magnificent, dreamlike and awesome, but the last level was nothing but a slightly more difficult than the previous levels. There wasn't even a real bossfight!

Super Paper Mario, and for a strange reason.

The final boss music kicked in during the dialogue, so you could sit there and mitigate the music's epicness before the battle actually started.

Mass Effect 2 was so cheesy, it just ridiculed the rest of the game. Why they thought a giant terminator was an acceptable climax, I don't know.
