You know, isn't not being happy with how the canon story works out what fan-fiction is for?

Oh I am sure EA will be happy to sell you a alternative ending DLC pack...

For only ££££ you too can have a happy ending, and so can Sheppard *big toothy grin*.

Meh, I want royalties if someone uses that line in an advert.

If this happened.I would gladly buy it,play it,get closure and never buy another Bioware game again. As it stands now I have no need to replay thought ME3 or buy any of its DLC.

Good lord.

This is getting out of control. Ive not even been able to play the thing yet and ive tried to avoid doing so until may when I will have the time to dedicate to it. But Bioware dont you dare cave to this pressure. It does not matter if the ending is truly the worst ending of any game anywhere, its what you created. Stand behind it, or else the court of public opinion will ruin every game we play and make the narrative in gaming as bland and regurgitated as everything on television for the last half century.

I'm still a firm believer of the indoctrination theory.

If Bioware manage to pull off what I think they're pulling off, it will be awesome.
They already pulled it off. They have yours and everyone elses money. Thats it. Thats the plan.

What you thought it was about the art? It was never about the art, never about sheppard.

It was about the money.

God damn it, it was always about the money!!!!

Agreed I think it would honestly change it from the worst ending ever to one of the most intelligent ways of ending a series I have ever seen.

Hyperbole is fun, no?

We'll have to see what Bioware has up their sleeves.

Only if they follow through with it though, and only if it's free.

Anything less will be seen as lazy storytelling/a blatant cash grab.

True. Also no matter what they do that shameless plug for DLC at the end of the game is always going to seem a bit cheap.

What if instead of the Mona Lisa's smile being flat, it was a stick figure jacking off where the mouth should be?

What if the artist periodically showed up on your doorstep peddling updates to the Mona Lisa?

Would it not be okay to simply suggest that you would like one of those updates to replace the masturbatory stick figure with a smile?

Captcha: Thunder Storm.
You got that right, Captcha.

And did anyone else hate that child/catalyst/AI as much as I did. I so wish we could converse with Harbinger instead.
I've just finished the game about 10 minutes ago and that's something that's staying with me just as much as the cup/paste endings.

One of the things that annoyed me the most....aside from Tali being there on that random planet even though she was BESIDE ME when I got hit by Harbinger?

I never got to talk shit to Harbinger.

Seriously, he's one of only two Reapers referred to by name, he's said to be the oldest of the Reapers and it's implied that he's leading the Reaper forces.

I wanted to be the plucky hero talking shit to the big bad goddammit!!!

And that voice.....*shudder*, anyone talking like that could assume direct control of me anytime.

Yes and no. Typically, fans of a series will write fan fiction to get the ending or story they want. But such fan fiction can easily be so biased to the aurther that only the auther can enjoy it. 90% of all fanfiction is this. And likewise, one persons own desire is different from anothers.

Thats why canon is so important. It gives a deffinite base to look and compare to. And since its canon, its undisputable in almost all cases (unless the creater decides to say "fuck it" and changes it). So really, Bioware dosent have to bend to the fans will and make a new ending...

"Artists dont make art for people, they make art for themselves... unless they really want to eat, than they'll play some ball." Just because you can glue some sticks together and call it art, doesnt mean people are going to pay you for it (unless they are one of those modern art people: read twats). If a artist wants to make money, they will do the occasional commission piece for a fee.

Likewise, if a videogame developer wants to make money, they'll give the fans what they want, or risk losing them. That said, I doubt Bioware or EA will be loosing money or sleep over this. But still, that doesnt mean it wont hold true on occasion...

If at the end of the day Bioware expected us to just make something up for ourselves we could've just done so on our own time and saved ourselves 5 years of waiting and 200+ bucks.

"Lots of speculation for everyone" my ass.

I just don't understand how they can create a 9.9/10 game for the first 20 hours and then create such a terrible ending. if they have a good excuse and can provide proof, I will forgive them and say "make the ending that you promised for free, I already paid $80 for this."

Just finished the game myself. Do I want them to change the end? It's done, so no. That's how they wrote it, that's how it is. Like the end of the book hannibal which had lector making off with starlin... Which Thomas Harris hated and he wrote it. When asked if the game is worth getting, I have to say no. That ending made everything you did in all three games pointless. Anything you did in the last game didnt matter at the end. Fable has more meaningful endings.

Yes. But if 90% of your fanbase hates your ending for a variety of rational, sensible reasons, then you've done something wrong.

As it is, Bioware should add some sort of third/fourth option at least. Even if it's just "Screw you, Holokid!" and standing around waiting for the Reapers to finish you all off.

You're missing the point entirely. I am a customer. I bought a product from a company. I found that the product was not as advertised. Further, I found a portion of the product's quality to be unsatisfactory. It is thus reasonable for me to voice my displeasure, loudly and angrily should I choose so, about the product I purchased. I am therefore well within my rights as a consumer to demand either a refund or a satisfactory replacement. Moreso, it is my prerogative to exercise my discretion and refuse to do further business with said company.

Your analogy to the Mona Lisa is ill-fitting at best. The Mona Lisa is a unique, privately owned item. It is not a product intended for mass consumption. I could, however, purchase a replica print of it and complain if I found the colours off or I felt that the reproduction was inaccurate (a flat smile, let us say). You're comparing apples to oranges.

Well, for what it's worth I haven't bought ME3 yet and if they do change the end I never will. That will essentially be the victory of the crowd-pleasing executives over anyone with anything resembling artistic integrity.
