Oh no, there's news that a developer might be continuing a series I currently enjoy!
I'm going to rage because this news was announced before the latest entry into the series has come out!
Seriously, could we go back to the days where we were excited that developers announced that they weren't walking away from the amazing worlds they created or where series that have been widely praised with each of their entries get excitement rather than criticism pre-release?
Look, if this news is indicating a continuation of the world of Mass Effect (which Bioware has already said they wanted to do), then I don't see why this is bad news. The story of the Reapers is clearly ending in this entry, just like the Collectors ended last entry or Saren/Sovereign ended in the first. That doesn't by any means make every threat in the galaxy go away, and there's more than likely still going to be plenty of areas you'll want to see from passing mentions in the games.
If this indicates DLC, that's fine too. Sure, Bioware's DLC has been expensive, but considering I've gone through 3/4 complete playthroughs (my most recent one was this week to prepare a Shepard I actually want to use and that I'd have remembered playing as), making certain to do them again along the way, they end up feeling a lot more justified for me.
You know, I remember this same shit happening for ME2, and while not everyone was happy, plenty of people agreed that it wasn't nearly as bad as the "fans" made things seem. But if that doesn't convince you, then could you at least find an upcoming game you're optimistic about and post about it because at this point nobody seems happy about anything.
Yes I know that it's mostly vocal minorities that are the cynical ones, but it wouldn't hurt once in a while for there to be a clear majority opinion of "We're content."
