Anyone else think that the first couple look like Natalie Portman?
Otherwise number 4 would get my vote. That, or Pinky Pie shep.

Why not have her with the face of her voice actor, or, hell - just have her with the same default look she had in the previous games?
If they'll use her voice actor she'll look like Bastillia from KOTOR. It will be confusing.

I agree about the default. They should make and HD version of it because it looks a little rough since that head is made with the head customization tool.
Yeah, because getting the voice actors face mixed up with a face from a comparatively niche game from ~8 years ago that 95% of the people playing Mass Effect 3 won't recognise was the first thing that popped into my head as well.

Maybe they should hire a different voice actor for Miranda Lawson because they might confuse her with Sondra from 'Gone', an unknown bad horror / thriller from 2007.

Saying that you recognised the voice actors from two different Bioware games is seriously nothing to flout.
Talented voice actors can do a range of voices so not all of their characters have to sound the same. I didn't even realize Femshep's voice actor was the same as Bastilla's until a friend told me (though I recognized Carth Onasi's voice with Kaiden).
People have similar voices, so it's normal if two unrelated characters from different games sound alike but if two characters from two different games from the same company would be modeled on the same person and look alike, people would see Femshep and think about Bastilla and such a thing could break the immersion.
I'm pretty sure most of the Mass Effect fan community are people who played KOTOR, if someone likes Mass Effect and didn't play KOTOR, that person is missing out.

Why did they fuckin' bother to begin with? Why didn't they just keep the original default face like they did with Vanderloo? I mean, hell, Hale's still returning so the fact that the default female Shep uses her likeness shouldn't matter!

Number 4. There isn`t really much of a choice thou. Bioware never disappoints in the ugly females department. I guess they work `round the clock to make them as ugly as possible.

I don't understand why they didn't have a red headed number 5, that is probably why people chose 5, not the hair colour but the hair style. Why Bioware?
This. I'd vote for 5 (if I were willing to interact with Facebook, which I'm not) for the superior hairstyle rather than the color. I'd prefer dark hair and darker skintone to go with it, but I'm always a sucker for the mussed-hair-over-eyes look.

Ok, I know this really isn't the place for bringing this up, so I won't go on a rant about it: I'll simply comment that they're all wearing eyeliner. Draw what conclusions you will.

On topic: 5, though we'll have to assume that her hair tie broke while she was reducing Reapers to scrap metal. I would seriously lol if Bioware made a game where if you customise your character to have long hair parts of it will actually obscure the heads up display as you play. Not saying it'd make a good game mechanic, just that it would be entertaining.

I take it these choices are only for the default Femshep, and that we can still customise her appearance? Because if not, then this is a bad sign of the rpg elements of the game being removed.

Oh look. The generic, transparent Barbie Shepard is winning. How surprising.
Yes because if somebody is blond they are obviously 'Generic', 'Transparent' and thick. If you think that due to her hair don't vote for her, but most people I know don't bat an eyelid at the blond stereotype.

I don't think it's so much the colour of the hair, more rather, the style.

She has thick black eye-liner and the hair from a shampoo advert, she doesn't look like a soldier.

Hell, even though I like the first picture, I still think they all look a little too young to be Shepard. Shepard is in her early thirties, but these pictures make her look much younger.

well you could still customize male sheps couldnt you? I think so as by now alot of people already have the apearence of female shepared in their heads..Im sure Bioware is smart enough to know this

anyway alot of people are saying default wasnt that bad int he firsr place..while I agree I think the Idea is that in the first place they didnt even "bother" with female shepard which was kind of dissapointing

they realised it was a mistake and so are doing this to fix it

and blonde shepard isnt that bad!

I'd pick 4, because she's the only one I actually like out of the bunch...the others just seem so...plastic really...

I actually quite liked 4, but I'll vote for 5, simply because it stands a chance of winning

I really like 1 or 4 as the face of Femshep....it makes the character look like they an air of authority/leadership about her.
