This cannot end well.
Heh.

This

All I could think of when I saw that guy was Brink...perhaps EA wants Bioware to make them an FPS or something...

People... chill the hell out.

Allow me to make an analysis of the picture.

First off, I see no post-apoc. Just because there's dirt, it doesn't mean the world has ended. The heavy light reflections give more of a desert vibe, and yes, the man's dark skintone suggests africa, or libya, if you care for a straight name.

Next, with the obvious, the guy's clothes are too clean to suggest post-apoc. It generally means the end of our social way of life if that were to happen, and it appears laundry it just one of those things. True, there's the ammo bandoleer and headband, suggesting he's part of some people's militia or rebel gang, but it doesn't look like he's some jackass. He apparently cares for his appearance.

Thirdly, that's not a collision. The truck on the ground is merely behind the smoke and heat distortion. It's not jostled, it looks unshaken, and still well maintained. That's some gear mounted in the truck bed though, so this goes on to somewhat strengthen the combat proficiency that the man may have. It doesn't look manned.

As for the poor truck that's gone airborne, it's pointing the wrong way for it to be a head on collision. The doors are facing the other way, protip for you all. Yes, the vehicle's paint seems to be wearing, but there appears to be something added to the vehicle, whatever that long, bolted on thing is, I'm afraid I can't identify it, but it seems to be in good repair... well, before this incident. I believe maybe artillery or something along those lines, like a bomb, were dropped on the back.

Now it gets interesting, because... why is the man facing the wrong way on the vehicle? That's... curious. I don't think you'd spin x-wise from an explosion, you'd just go flying. Maybe he was catapulted from the truck, or maybe the poor sap was the target of multiple bombardments, the angle is a bit weird, is all, and he was close enough to one to go flying, but not in the lethal range.

But the absolute WEIRDEST thing about this image I can see is...

How... is the guy's leg on fire?

Looking at it closer... the distortions are actually in... bubbles.

Doesn't look like heat distortions, that's usually a wavy sort of thing. It's also why the car looks kinda shredded here and there.

Suddenly, this is feeling pretty sci-fi to me.

OH MY GOD MY FAITH IN BIOWARE IS LOST FOREVER BECAUSE OF A SINGLE IMAGE THAT TELLS ME NOTHING ABOUT THE GAME!
Wow, that's hilariously pathetic. How the hell can you know that's not just a shot from an intro cinematic, which takes place in a desert or whatever? You assume too much.
I'm going to assume it's a video game. Let's see if my hopes are fulfilled! :D

I get the feeling people are just upset Bioware isnt giving them the game they want anymore (or they made a game that was less than perfect and all of a sudden its blasphemy)

because I dont know what it is is, but right now no other game company seems to get so much hate

and for fucks sakes its a fucking picture not a fucking game, why is evertone being so unreasonable?

I'm calling it right now, it's going to be a Bioware version of Death Race!! Or maybe a RAGE knock off... or their attempt at a shooter.... No! It has to be a car combat game, just like Twisted Me- wait a minute! @[email protected] the hell, Bioware?

So much pointless rage in this thread...but then again that is to be accepted since Bioware are the EVIL, soulless, sellouts and blah, blah, blah, that ruin RPGs for the entitled, hardcore elitists.

sigh
dont forget the anything vaugley resbelming post apocalyptic or desert (and you know "vaugly" being the key word here) is just BAD on an objective level..subjectivity has nothing to do with it

never mind that taking often used and "cliche" settings (high fantasy/sci fi) and doing them well has always been bioware's thing

would people be flipping out if it was fantasy or "non post apocalyptic sci fi"? no becuase as gamers with "superior" opiniond we HAVE to hate anything brown or desert like and less than hardcore RPG

Am I the only one who's noticed that his right leg is a hoof..? (could be his left too, but kind of hard to tell)

Oh boy! Another bland shooter! Bioware sure knows what the fans want!
because you know...it coulnt POSSIBLY be anything but a shooter/FPS..the picture says it all really (story, setting charachters, the game play mechanics)

and of coarse a developers job is to specifically cater to the exact tastes of its fans (certain fans of coarse)...god forbid it do anything different

Normally I scoff at the fools who use the phrase "Am I the only one" But considering the fact the rest of the thread is just bashing on Bioware blindly because they didn't like DA2, yeah I think you're the only one.

OT:I don't care if it's post apocalyptic, I like that setting and I wouldn't mind seeing what Bioware does with it.

P.S: To all those wondering if SWTOR is just another wow clones, I played the beta, It's got a very Kotor vibe to it and actually made me feel like I was playing KOTOR minus the ridiculously blatant moral standings, This is from someone who was never going to touch it BECAUSE I thought it was a wow clone.

There are two game studios that I'm willing to give the benefit of a doubt to: Blizzard and Bioware.

Can't wait for the reveal. Hope it's not a shooter.

You're right. It does look like a hoof. On a second thought it also looks kinda like leg augmentation form Deus Ex.

not much can be told from a single screen shot.
With their most recent game still fresh in my mind, I'll wait and see what ME3 has to offer before I embrace a new IP by Bioware or shrug and walk away from the idea

Oh, you people.

"What's this? Bioware might be making something that isn't a fantasy RPG?! BIOWARE YOU INCOMPETENT HACKS, STOP EATING MY CHILDREN!"

*ahem*

Anyway, as for the actual image, we have two armed and armoured vehicles exploding/crashing in a desert with a guy, presumably the gunner of the left vehicle, being flung from the wreckage. Judging by the vehicles and weapons it's set in modern or near-modern times. Although, as someone else pointed out, it could be a backwards future setting a la Firefly.

So... I dunno, a racing game? Mad Max style RPG? Vehicle combat game?

I'm optimistically hoping for something set in Africa (note the black guy and desert-ish environment). That would be really interesting. A game that puts you in the shoes of a combatant in an African civil war? Yeah, I would buy the hell out of that.

Colour me mildly intrigued.

I'm undecided. Possibly it could just be debris, but it does look like it's a hoof, I agree.
