Haha! I can't wait. Though, I rather see Bioware, as my favorit game developer, wait a bit with DA2. DA:O was such a great game and I don't really see a meaning of releasing a sequel at the moment. No doubt I'm curious about it though. Can't wait!

BTW. Do anyone think they'll use the same game-engine?

Oh God, please, make combat right this time, so Normal isn't impossibly hard against medium to big groups of enemies, Easy isn't a cake-walk and Hard isn't Impossible.
Meh. As a BG, Planescape and other old time cRPGS i actually found Normal and Hard too easy, and Nightmare only challenging because mob stats scaled better with player character powers. I ended up downloading a mod to boost up the difficulty eventually on my second playthrough.
The combat was perfectly fine and i hope they keep it up that way, if not rise the bar a little further on the hardest setting.
You've got to be kidding me. The combat for me was:

1. Melee characters rush.
2. Casters start spamming AoE skills.
3. Melee start chugging potions like crazy, because archers are killing them.
4. Casters chug a potion or two, because they can't cast spells.
5. I die, load game, because AI despite Tactics is dumb and warriors attacking warriors when there are mages casting fireballs at my mages is... ugh.

Combat was horrible for both my melee characters I created, Rogue and Warrior.

No! DA1 stole so much of my time when it first came out and this sequel looks far more epic than the original. I now much wave goodbye to a few months from when this finally comes out until probably finals again so...about three months.

We play a character named Hawke?? duh... WTF?? I can,t create my character anymore? No more Origins story?
Im assuming that they arent letting us choose the name so that other characters can refer to us as something other than "Warden" which we may not even be a part of in this game. My guess is that you can still customize his appearance, class, race, and what not.
It's been confirmed by BioWare that you're only human, you can't choose your race. You can choose your gender and class though.
That's suck... really... It,s a uge let down

For me it was more along the lines
Casters knockdown or mass paralyze ranged, my main rogue sneaks around and finishes them one by one, warrior takes the big hitters, Leilana helps my main kill the squishies providing crit-shots and knockdowns. Hardly mass chugged potions ever since grabbing Wynne, Restoration and Heal was enough for all goon fights, only used potions on boss fights including resistance ones. And use of pause to refine actions when needed.
Years of playing older cRPGs and nights on WoW raiding were a good practice after all i guess.

Hey Bioware, Here's an idea:
How about letting your players play as a villainous/righteous dragon in one of your settings?
That would take too much work? Remaking your original game is more profitable? Oh...ok.

This is actually pretty exciting if I'm being honest. Though still, I hope the focus is less on party dynamics and more on having the individual and perhaps some improved AI

WHAAAT!? That takes away the huge customizabilty of the first game. That's such a stupid move. I know we can only play as a human in Mass Effect, that makes sense, but come on! We really have to play as just a human in DA2, gah that sucks.

Maybe you should stick to first person shooters. Nothing in DA was particularly hard, even on hard mode, if you knew what you were doing.

I'm going to say that "Hawke" is the new "Elika."

"I CAN'T CREATE MY CHARACTER? BIOWARE HAS LOST THEIR MINDS! LOLOLOLOL!"

the thing that people will complain and scream about for ever and when the game comes out they'll say "I won't play it because blah blah blah" and then when you actually play it, it turns out it was totally the right decision.

Let's not forget that everybody thought it was dumb how little the game changed depending on race in DA:O, anyway. So what the fuck do you WANT, Internet?

Great job Bioware. Plenty of people think ME2 was a dumbed down TPS, and whats your answer? Turn your current hardcore RPG into another dumbed down piece of shit.

EA have got Biowhore by the balls and they clearly love it, and I dont think I can bring myself to buy any of their games anymore. I need drastic changes once more if Im buying ME3, and on the evidence of this, Ive got no chance of getting them.

In Dragon Age 2, players will take on the role of a survivor of the Blight, a refugee cast adrift on a world in upheaval. The game will feature new combat mechanics, updated graphics and a "new visual style," and will span an entire decade as the player gathers "the deadliest of allies" and rises to become the champion of the land.

In other words, it'll follow the standard BioWare [http://www.bioware.com] formula pretty much to the letter, which means you can also expect a romance option with a troubled, reluctant sexpot, an oversized goon with a propensity for violence and a cheerful sidekick whose light-hearted wisecracking masks a deep, dark secret.
And that's why we love BioWare games!
Anyway I'm also interested in how this new character will be more important than the last one.
I'm calling dibs on the new character being the son of Morrigan and possessing the power of the Beast!
