Hey Bioware, Here's an idea:
How about letting your players play as a villainous/righteous dragon in one of your settings?
That would take too much work? Remaking your original game is more profitable? Oh...ok.
To be fair, though, that has already been done. I mean, look at Divine Divinity II: Ego Draconis. It would basically be a remake of that.

I have faith that Bioware they will come through here, but I cannot take much more disappointment. I was let down by ME2, and there is no way I can keep being such a fool fanboy.

EDIT:
Also, I think we will see many characters named Ethan in Dragon Age 2.
Also "Faux", "Tony" and of course simply "Mo".

So something just hit me. When the hell did Bioware become so massive that they can simultaneously work on whats possibly the largest (in terms of development size not the game itself) and expensive MMO ever created, Mass Effect 3, AND Dragon Age 2, not to mention whatever secret projects they might be working on that we don't know about??
Yeah, seriously, but at least they're releasing quality games at such speeds, unlike a lot of other companies.

So instead of deepening the 'Origins' part of the last game, working out the parts that didn't quite work (such as the Origin not really affecting the story all that much), they've elected to take the easy way out and do away with it completely? That's pretty disappointing.

Having us play a character named Hawke, just so that characters can refer to us as "Shepard" "Hawke" just smacks of a bit of laziness in the design. As if they're going to start pasting the mechanics of Mass Effect onto all their RPGs in order to recreate its success.

I'll probably still buy it, and will probably enjoy it. Just seems to be the wrong direction to take the game in, making all their RPGs have similar mechanics might work for a while, but eventually it will just become stagnate.

As far as I can tell...People complain too much

Waaah we can't change our race!:So what? We are playing as a legacy character who will be the most importantt character in the DA universe, I say bring it on.

What about the warden? His/her story is done. To be honest, I'm glad. They can finally enjoy the rest of their lives without any fighting or war.

This is how I picture my city elf living out the rest of his life:

*Sign*, he only have so long to live...better let it be the best huh?

I feel as though this will be a good idea, we get to see the rest of the world and meet other people we only heard in passing.

in response to the update:

how in the hell will he be more important than the guy who ended the blight?

I mean, really? -50 style points if he is part of some prophecy.
I think because he will be the new champion or maybe because the other guy/girl just want to live his/her life?

I mean, do we hear about the other guys who ended a blight? I only heard about the one who was an elf.

That's a bit of a weird release date, same as ToR. It'll be tricky getting people to spend money on both. Of course I will have money set aside for both.

Cool but what about all the different Origins stories. If we all start as a refugee isn't that kind of boring?

My major concern here is the whole bit about "you play a refugee named Hawke who rises to become the most important character in the Dragon Age World" or however that read.

See, one of the most ingenius aspects of "Dragon Age: Origins" that has actually been being imitated by games like "Fallout: New Vegas" was the multiple character backstories/origins and so on.

To me it seems like they are removing a lot of options from the game, including the abillity to name your own character. Heck, maybe I'm mis-reading that but can Hawke even be a girl in this one?

I guess it sort of worked with "Mass Effect" with the character always being "Shepard" and they might be doing something similar, but honestly I seriously preferred the way "Origins" did things, especially the backround/prequel bits.

In other words, it'll follow the standard BioWare [http://www.bioware.com] formula pretty much to the letter, which means you can also expect a romance option with a troubled, reluctant sexpot, an oversized goon with a propensity for violence and a cheerful sidekick whose light-hearted wisecracking masks a deep, dark secret.
Lol, this part made me laugh pretty damn hard...

Ok, maybe not laugh, but chuckled enough to get a bit of dribble in my beard. Your so dead on!

I am a bit concerned about origins... I loved that part of DA:O. Hell, I played through each Origin and that made up a good like 8 hours of game-play. I really hope their still incorporated, I mean they COULD very well still be in the game. Your could be a refuge from anywhere really...

And I am totally cool with the single last name. Ya it has it's faults, but hey, I understand why and it is surprisingly nice to hear your character refereed to in VO by name.
