Red Dead Redemption an RPG?Onyx Oblivion said:And that's fine, I liked it enough to give it a single 100% run, as the story and world are fantastic, but I'm just worried that the RPG genre sliding is sliding towards full-on actions games...with deep worlds. People on the Escapist have told me that they consider Red Dead Redemption an RPG!JourneyThroughHell said:Well, I'm not really an RPG enthusiast, so I think everything that happened to Mass Effect 2 improved it greatly... but I see where you're coming from.
Exactly, and didn't they release Dragon Age and Mass Effect 2 only two and a half months apart from eachother?Dyp100 said:Ironic coming fro, Bioware, who are making 3, maybe 4 games right now.
However, there was a good gap before and after those releases. If they release all four games they're working on within the same year, then we have a problem.Diligent said:Exactly, and didn't they release Dragon Age and Mass Effect 2 only two and a half months apart from eachother?Dyp100 said:Ironic coming fro, Bioware, who are making 3, maybe 4 games right now.
(Granted those were both good games, but still...)
Then the piles of not so great DLC, though.Diligent said:Exactly, and didn't they release Dragon Age and Mass Effect 2 only two and a half months apart from eachother?Dyp100 said:Ironic coming fro, Bioware, who are making 3, maybe 4 games right now.

Basically it was heavily focused on combat and everything else is done pretty badly. It has to load when moving to new areas and the areas are small enough to cross in less than a minute.Onyx Oblivion said:Really? Like what gameplay aspects, exactly?Guy32 said:I would't bother with bloodlines unless you can find it for under $5. They focused on all the wrong gameplay aspects, and going back to Altair feels like a very large step back.Onyx Oblivion said:Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines
I was actually rather excited for it, too...Was going to be the second game I got...
Finally someone says it. Mass Effect 2 (and DA 2 aswell from the looks of it) just cut all the good stuff and made it a rather shallow and lifeless experience. Customization was pathethic and so was the feeling of freedom among others. I have no clue why people hyped ME2 to the degree of being one of the best of all times, it was a decent 20 hour experience or so. Enjoyable, yes, but nothing that keeps you coming back for more.Onyx Oblivion said:when Mass Effect 2 is a bloody shooter with minimal amounts of team customization and shallow-as-a-toilet combat. And now it looks like they're doing to Dragon Age 2 what they did with Mass Effect 2, trimming too much fat off, and leaving it bare-bones.
Inventory management was a pain in Mass Effect 1, yes, but only because everything you killed dropped something, and you had a relatively low item capacity. A little tweaking would have made it an non-issue. Trim the fat, Bioware, don't melt it down to the bone.
Never mind, they changed the date on my pre-order for it. You are correct (although the new one states December 31/2011 now).JaredXE said:What does? Dragon Age 2 is marked for March 8th and there is NO release date for SW:TOR other than the one John Riccitiello leaked out about Spring Quarter 2011. No open beta yet for the game either.ShadowsofHope said:Actually, it comes out December 31 of this year.
OT: I agree. And although it may be hypocritical, it doesn't mean they are wrong.
