Bisexual's Don't Exist So... I'm Not Real? Damn....

I always considered sexuality as some sort of graph
on the one end we have 100% hetero on the other we have 100% homo
And in the middle (50/50) we have bi
Of course people who are exactly on one of those 3 points are rare
We mostly occupy space somewhere in the between these 3 points
I personally classify myself as 90% hetero, but I don't deny that I have met few men that I considered sexually attractive (at this point only 2)
Also I have nothing against having sex with person with penis
What I have problems with, are how men look
I find 99.9% men ugly
(in comparison I think that 80% of my age women are sexually attractive)
So no, the "bisexual doesn't exist" argument is total bullshit from my point of view.

As someone who teaches essay writing for a living, I can tell you - with the right work, you can make the research support your thesis even if it doesn't.

That means that if someone wants to prove something that is patently false, they can by twisting their sources enough. Even in science this is possible, although harder. In social sciences and psychology, all it takes is skewing your questions the right way.

For instance, a student is using the Escapist to collect research data for his essay. He (or she) has weighted his questions to get the results he wants. That's fine - that's how you write college papers - but it does mean that his survey is skewed to support his thesis.

When your thesis is bisexuals don't exist, I'm sure you can get people to say things that support that. If you wrote a survey that said "were you bisexual in college" and "did you eventually enter a committed relationship with a partner" I would answer yes to both. From those questions, a researcher would have support that I was bisexual in college but chose one "side" and got married. There is no question that indicates that I am not only still bisexual, but sexually active with both sexes. Or that my spouse is also bisexual. Or that we enjoy getting together with other couples so that we don't have to give up that part of ourselves. It's all about asking the right questions.

You might also want to check the dates on that research. Any research done before the year 2000 may be outdated and biased just because of the cultural shift that has occurred in the past decade.

Anyway, good to meet you. No, you're not alone. Hang in there and don't let the internet piss you off too much.

What do you guys think? Am I alone? Am I really the only actual bisexual man?
Yeah dude you totally aren't. Bisexual man right here. :raises hand:

So yeah I totally just created an account to tell you that. Long time lurker and all that crap.

I think one thing is that sexuality is way more complicated that most people figure. I'm bisexual but I'm not bi-romantic. Sex with dudes is totally hot but I only date women. Sex with women is hot too in case that wasn't clear.

But according to some people that would make me straight. Or maybe something stupid like I'm just gay but in denial. I just like being in relationships with women better but I like sex with everyone.

You totally aren't alone dude. No matter what some stupid people say.

Yeah I know, long discussion and such I really such wanted to provoke discussion I was well aware that I wasn't. Though I have relationships with both, I find women more tiring and men to be hasty but either is great. (For clarity, not both at once, I don't do polygamy)

And grats on your first post, you aren't the only lurker to have made their first post in this thread xD

As somebody who was an educatiopn student until not too long ago I'm well aware of how you can twist things to support your own objectives, especially in more social studies.

Don't worry, it doesn't piss me off too mcuh or too often. :)

Personally, I have a hard time buying the concept of bisexuality because males and females are so different in appearance, but that's just like I have a hard time buying the concept of guys who don't like redheads. I don't understand it, but I accept that it's the way they are.

Thanks. I just posted in like three threads. It's kind of liberating after lurking for so long.

And yeah totally I get that. Discussions are cool.

That worked. Awesome.

Anyway I think of it like this, men have two holes and women have three. All of those holes can get me off. I'd think that'd be a pretty easy concept to buy.

I'm a little pickier about actual dating but for sex its all good.

hahahaha that happens to bisexual women, too. They're either lesbians or "experimenting" or "doing it for attention" -eyeroll-. Anyone who believes that bisexuality doesn't actually exist is an absolute moron and deserves to be defenestrated out of the nearest tall building.
I fully believe that bisexuality exists because human's can be wired to be sexually oriented in many ways, but in my experience most girls who claim bisexuality are dirty liars. There have been exceptions, but for the most part I think it was seen as a way to grab attention.

Yeah I get what you're saying, I mean think of all the energy being wasted on that research. Those lazy fuckers could have been physicists, or doctors, or chemists, or biologists, etc, and researched something worthwhile and beneficial to us all, rather than faffing about asking what gets peoples gears turning!
I mean....it CAN'T be easier to acquire fund to conduct research looking into human sexuality rather than say fusion power can it?

.........

are we on to a real thing here? Bored gummin't officials looking at research grants

*bored middle aged clerk looking over orders*
Fusion power? Too sci-fi.Proton accelator? The devils work. Human transcendance? It'll never take on,hold on a minute! Bisexuality!. Elza! hold all my calls, i must venture to yonder research facility and *seriously* engage in conversations about the possibility that sexuality isn't complicated...and view videos, and go to pubs and attempt to make *individuals of my sexual interest* to make out.

......having met bureacrats and researchers i can totally see this happening.

I can totally see that happening. I mean, I've been to university, I can see people actually funding this kind of insanity over fusion power, because fusion power involves hard maths and they can't wrap their minds around it...

Oops looks like someone figured that I don't exist *looks at hand and sees it start to vanish* off I go to the nether realm again.

Seriously though some people just don't understand it, think your doing it for attention or that its just a phase that you will out grow.

I will admit though that some people who claim to be bi are just doing it for the attention but in my experience I've only met a couple of these and they seem to be in the minority.
