Yeah I think that is the case with her it's a bit of a sticking point that it doesn't bother me in the slightest, if anything it's a display of confidence, which in itself is attractive. But modern society will have it's way with the minds of people.

I'm also within that bracket at 21, I've been in many relationships with both, hot girls are hot and so are hot guys. I agree that the reason people settle down is that they find a partner to stay with, not because they magically stop being attracted to other people. I've definately had more girlfriends than boyfriends though, want to know why?

More girls like boys than boys like boys. It's that simple, it's basic probability. If I have 100 people of each gender, say 97 women like boys, then maybe only 3 of the boys will like boys, that's how the world works.

It'd be great if we could all just ignore gender and our assigned roles and get on with our lives but no!

Sexuality does change over time but to say it's a phase is ignorant (god damn it I hate using that word...).

[Finally bloody done with all this quoting, have mercy on me mods, I don't multipost but I had to here to make it manageable ):...]

I will do anything once and while I am married I do have a certain attraction to certain types of guys... though I doubt anything other than a fling could become of it. Not sure if thats bi or not.

I guess the question should be is bi being able to fall in love live and die as well as have sex with both genders? or can it just be a "Yeah I'd hit that."?
Trying anything once is pretty much how I go about things tbh. I'm not married though I do have a long term girlfriend and no desire to change that. That doesn't mean I don't daydream or fantasize though, even though I haven't been with a guy in a while.

I guess it's a bit of both and depends on your own perspective of your sexuality. I'm capable of love with any gender and I also have a case of "Yeah, I'd tap that ass" myself.

You could be, but I wouldn't risk your marriage over curiosity :)
Watch some videos maybe? xD
Lol my wife pretty much had bi on her list of must haves for a husband, believe me she knows.
I didn't mean she may find out or anything, I more meant don't just go fuck a bunch of guys to make sure and fuck up your marriage that way.

Calmly and casually enquire about threesomes maybe? :3

Yeah people be stupid and you really can't help that. My girl-friend is bi so I definitely know about it and what not. On top of that one of my friends in high-school was a guy and was bi. It was pretty funny because no one cared and he just let everything slide off. So just from personal experience yep male bisexuals do exist and lets be honest there's so many people in the world there's plenty of other bisexual men that exist and probably some others here on the Escapist.

Eh, just ignore them, some people are just ignorant. I have a friend who has bisexual leanings, and I'm not sure about my own sexuality...

Interestingly enough there are other studies that suggest that people who are 100% straight or gay are actually rare. Tanking it on a sort of sliding scale they suggest that being 50/50 is also unusual and most of us are bisexual, just to different degrees.
I never accepted that whole sliding scale thing. You either shag a gender or you don't. You don't half shag a gender, let alone two-thirds shag a gender or nine-tenths shag a gender. If you practice (or desire to practice) sex with both genders then you're bi. I can't see any way to coherently define someone being "10% more gay" than another. Which genders you sleep with is an inherently discrete thing.

I love it when people arbitrarily throw out quotes like "bisexuality isn't a real thing" or "it's a phase" it gives me a nice ol' throwback to the damn old idea that homosexuality is a choice.

Seriously, why is it so difficult to comprehend that some people like boys, some girls and some both? is it that hard to comprehend? I suppose i could make an assumption that it's hard top believe on account of having known some people who said they were bisexual, but never touched a person of their own/ the other sex (only one, ne'er the other that is) but we're dead sure that they were bi-sexual anyway. and you know what? fine. Who am i to second guess anyone elses sexuality anyway? i don't know how they feel when they look at other people.

live and let live.
I like boys, girls, and everything in between :)

I don't get why we need research for it or anything. Live and let live, some people just like to project their own fears and worries onto others, while others just need something to hate or they get all calm and relaxed and don't know what to do with themselves!
I suppose people feel the need to crete research with the intent purpose to chart human sexuality and comprehend different individuals sexual drive. Perosnally, and this might make me sound a tad peepers, but if can understand what someone finds attractive, it lets me have a look into a face of their personality. And charting it for several people might say a lot about income/lifestyle choices within certain demographics, but i'm still slightly confused about the notion that "Bisexuality as a norm" still needs research to be confirmed. Really? REALLY 2012? haven't we at this time come to the stunning insight that some people like somethings, and other other things?

Ah what-evah. Unless i take it up on an international level, i'll just keep tackling it on an individual basis until then.

Yeah I get what you're saying, I mean think of all the energy being wasted on that research. Those lazy fuckers could have been physicists, or doctors, or chemists, or biologists, etc, and researched something worthwhile and beneficial to us all, rather than faffing about asking what gets peoples gears turning!

Thats a pretty narrow minded view of things.

Research can be used to legal purposes, medical purposes, it can aid other researches about group habits. Research all exists to understand trends and new norms in respect to a topic. I'm trying to stay vague because there are many many many reasons to research sexuality, sexual habits, and attraction.

I'm aware that there are benefits to social research, but I think people researching whether people really do like both could better use their energy elsewhere.

I'd rather somebody found a cure for AIDS, for example.

My sexuality is that of 'pansexual' where I am sexually attracted to things because I am sexually attracted to them, without any forced prejudices. Basically covers men and women.

Funnily I current have a crisis where I have a crush on a man AND a woman.

A quote from Torchwood; Children of Earth which I find very good. It is when a character is asked about his relationship with another man. He says "I'm not attracted to men. I'm just attracted to him".

Can we get rid of these stupid bloody labels? Labels should only exist in people's minds at most. Labels is what's stopping me from getting into a relationship with people of the same gender as me. Because I don't find camp people or flamboyant people attractive at all. And they statistically are the ones which would be in a relationship with someone of the same gender. I'd like to be able to objectively enquire about someone's sexual preferences without looking like a freak or losing a potential friend.

I'm not averse to sex. I'm indifferent to it.

To be honest, I think we should just do away with labels, considering just how fluid and varied the scale of sexuality can be. Heterosexuals exist. Homosexuals exist. Lesbians exist. Bisexuals exist. Asexuals exist. Most people on this imperfect rock have a sexual attraction (or lack thereof) to at least something, whether that be male, female, intersex, transsexual, someone with a specific personality, someone with a specific sexuality, animals, dolls?I could go on. Some of those count as fetishes, some of them don?t.

I even have my gripes about the labelling of fetishes in general, since?what would you really define as a fetish? I mean, homosexuality was considered a fetish along the same lines of paedophilia as recently as 60 years ago, but now it?s more socially accepted, it?s treated as just as much a sexuality as heterosexuality.

So?whatever. Get off to what you want, and fuck who you want, as long as it?s not child porn or non-consensual.

But then who wouldn't be attracted to captain Jack Harkness.

I agree with the stop the labeling crowd. Some people are not honest with there own feeling due to the fact that society tries to label everything. People are attracted to what they find attractive.
