As much as I love Blizz's cinematics, and can't deny the overall quality here, it does seem rather lacking in showing off what's new in this expansion - yes, there's pandas, but while the internet wouldn't let you know it right now it seems, there's actually more to it than just pandas.

I seem to remember there being more than one cinematic however for previous expansions, the one that's shipped with the game, and then the one beforehand with the text bits saying 'new thing' and 'another new thing' between bits of movie.

I'm just hoping we get 12 slots so I don't have to sacrifice an alt to create my ideal two new characters, pandarien rogue and ....a monk of some race, undecided, but likely troll for the pure mojo they bring to the table.

Or maybe a female orc monk, as female anything is rare, and I'll at least be popular around holiday seasons when they're in demand for achievements :D

Heres a challenge, try watching the YouTube comments for a minute and NOT responding to something. That is how you know you have inner piece.

Seriously, awesome cinematic (due, its Blizzard) but if I do get back into WoW when MoP comes out it will proberly only last a month or so, once you hit the end game experience the real ass holes crawl out of the wood work... the amount of bitching I went up against WHILE facing Deathwing was a joke.

Blizzard really can't win. People have been asking for Pandaren since BC, and they've been a part of the game's universe since well before the Kung Fu Panda movie. Now they finally get it, and legions of children are bitching about "pandering to kids with Kung Fu Panda crap."

It's lame, and I think that despite the Diablo incident, Blizzard still tries to make quality games. But apparently all it takes in today's world is one mistake to end up on a permanent shit-list.
They've had people bitching about WoW since launch - chances are they're immune to that by now.

Vocal minority versus satiated majority, though after eight years of game time many people from that majority are suffering from fatigue and moving on.

On a side note, anyone other fence sitters get pushed into buying Guild Wars 2 after watching that cinematic?

Correct. Extremely few people will have lasted 8 years before getting tired of it. Almost everyone I got to know during vanilla quit before I did (cataclysm launch).

I liked the trailer though: their cinematics department still can deliver, even though the Cataclysm one was slightly underwhelming.

I thought the cinematic was really neat, and actually did a pretty good job of showing the tone and over all setting for Mists.

Info below that's not super important but I wanted to say anyway, read at your own interest.

I've been playing WoW since Vanilla, just before they introduced Naxx. I still and will continue playing, despite not really looking forward to a number of the changes in MoP. I play because I've found a strong group of friends that I can have fun with doing whatever, pvp, raiding, gearing alts, achievement/transmog/mount farming, whatever. I don't play WoW because the game itself is still fun. I play WoW because the people I play it with are fun, and that's good enough for me. If they all move to GW2, then I'll probably play that with them instead, despite not having enjoyed beta. Its that kind of group, and I love hanging with them.

The best part of all Blizzard releases, their CG trailers.
I'm surprised they haven't got their guys working on full fledged movies yet.

I liked the part where it was an intense battle, and a single blow connected could mean certain defeat.
But then a panda happened, and it went all the way to slapstick comedy for some reason.

And why would a bearded gentleman use a piece of wood when he had such a good knife?
And if he wanted to make a spear, why wouldn't he use it as a spear?!
So many questions.

I wholeheartedly agree with this. Only problem Blizzard has are many unthankful fans and hipsters who hate things just because they are popular.

Trailer is kind of cool, still not interested though. Sure I like the lush and vibrant looking scenery but well you know, it is a cinematic. I'm not going to be playing it myself but I am of the whole "don't dis it til you've tried it" mentality.

So, from different races kicking the crap out of each other and their enviroment in the first and The Burning Crusade cinematic trailer. To Arthas raising a giant fucking dragon from the dead and looking out over his vast armies of undead, to Deathwing threatening to destroy the entire world and splitting a continent in half, we get to a comic relief trailer.

Yeah, Blizzard is really PANDAring to the kids. This trailer did not win me over, Mists of Pandaria will not win me over. It's the same old boring thing.

You'll get an 11th, at least. One for each class per realm.

I for one don't, but find it highly amusing (read, confusing and mildly irritating) that people have to show up and say that they don't care, or don't play, or dislike the thing but are ultimately unaffected.

Wait, wait, wait... No one can say that they are not looking forward to this game? Or that they don't care? Why not? Why would it irritate you if I said that I played WoW for 5 years, got bored of it and I will not buy the new expansion?

This is a free, open forum, in my personal opinion, everyone's view is allowed, albeit respectfully towards other posters.

And just because I don't care about Mists of Pandaria, doesn't mean that I can't acknowledge that the game exists.

But why bother, if not for +1 post?
