And just because I don't care about Mists of Pandaria, doesn't mean that I can't acknowledge that the game exists.
But why bother, if not for +1 post?
If a topic interests me, whether in a positive or negative way, and I feel like I wish to voice my opinion, I do. Simple as. Why? Because I can.
I don't care about religion, but if I don't acknowledges that there are churches, I might walk into the wall of one by accident.

Not everything has to have a motive, you are not the Gregory House of the Escapist and you will not find an answer that will work within the confines of your own point of view.

So much hate on wow from Escapist people, wow,I'm not that surprised though.I found the trailer quite amusing and of great quality(of course,it's Blizzard).

I already preordered Collector's Edition and I can't wait to play it.

So haters shoo! :p
Hey, enjoy your game, just don't expect everyone to share your opinion. :)
Actually a few million do... so shoo :)

Blizzard, here is my money. Do with it what you will. One thing before you go, though, please call a doctor, because I seem to have a perma-erection from that cinematic.

So, because a few million like a game, the remaining billions are not allowed to not like it? Right, shoo yourself. Blizzard fanboys are terrible.

Honestly, this expansion doesn't have much to hook people in.

We went in space in Burning Crusade...
We battled the biggest bastard of Warcraft 3 in Wrath of the Lich King...
The world almost ended in Cataclysm....

Now, we have Pandas doing Kung fu... Other than the "Lolz", what much is there?

yeah atleast you knew what was going on before, now its like ... you know ... a mist or something :D no sign of badguys anywhere yet, horde vs alliance still, but what else?

(i know there is Sha or whatever)

i guess the last patch before the expansion will set all this up? a bit much to pile up all that lore so quickly

Weird thing is, Blizzard actually knew how to write ten years ago, which makes me astounded that they actually do put up crap like with a straight face.
Most of those people don't work at Blizzard anymore since the Activision thing.

Blizzard really can't win. People have been asking for Pandaren since BC, and they've been a part of the game's universe since well before the Kung Fu Panda movie. Now they finally get it, and legions of children are bitching about "pandering to kids with Kung Fu Panda crap."
Well you see people did want them to add Pandaren. But Kung Fu Panda came out so now they're too mainstream.
If people can't enjoy something because it's mainstream, I feel sorry for them. I enjoy what I enjoy, fuck how popular or unpopular it is.

I liked it. Always loved the whole kickass monk thing and frankly if i learned of a monastery of warrior monks and they let me join i would most likely ditch everything and everyone to join. Still not going back to wow tho. IF they give it a massive overhaul add new types of quests and update the combat system then I'll think about it. Meanwhile need to decide how much i want the secret world. Beta was awesome: the fact that you could have electric blue hair hooked me:p

The lead writer still does. Although he seems a bit more like an ascended fanfic writer than a professional. Makes sense though, since he was there back when the company was still small.

I.......... am not feeling it, actually. Huh. I've RPed a Human monk (as taught by a Pandaren traveler) way back when on WoW, was really into their lore, favorite DotA hero is Brewmaster, and yet... this trailer still feels off. :| Not very Warcrafty if that explains it.

Also, obligatory Kung Fu Panda reference.

And why would a bearded gentleman use a piece of wood when he had such a good knife?
And if he wanted to make a spear, why wouldn't he use it as a spear?!
So many questions.
I take it as that Admiral Moustache being intelligent about his situation. He's shipwrecked on a some unknown piece of land. That sharp chunk of metal that's his sword? It's more then a weapon at that point, its his most valuable tool. Thus its better to risk the easily replaceable wood spear in combat then the extremely valuable metal sword. That's how I look at it.

As for the cinematic, I enjoyed it greatly. A good display of expansion's general symbolism, with a good ratio of action to humour. I for one am eager to enjoy the expansion when it comes about. I had my occasional gripe during Cata, but I'm willing to see if they've fixed some of the more common issues. And if nothin' else, there's still plenty to work on in terms of the roleplaying field!

Ok, I have to admit that I like the trailer... somehow-ish.

Won't bring me back to wasting my time with WOW tho.

So you want every xpac to be serious and have some main super duper villain to fight? Why can't we for once just have a fun relaxing easy on the eye xpac - the game needs some lighthearted content. But don't worry next xpac will no doubt be a Burning Legion themed xpac - so you can get your hardon then lol.
It's not the fact that there isn't a big established bad yet. Burning Crusade marked the first time we had something other than Azuroth. If you played Warcraft 3 with expansion, you know that Arthas's downfall is a big deal. Cataclysm took the old WoW and changed a lot of its content so new players could have a fun time leveling instead of "slow and painfull" grind of Vanilla. Plus, you really wanted to check out your old favorite zones and how they changed.

Mist of Pandaria just comes in and brings Pandas and a new continent. It just feels...like a step in an unknown direction. It doesn't have that *thing* that made me come back to WoW for each expansions. I won't pay extras for only the "lulz".
