They will only blow my mind if it turns out to be a resurrection of the Shadowrun MMO project with help from Bungie for the shooter elements. Or maybe a zombie apocalypse survival MMO RPG. Someone's oughta have made that by now.

I highly doubt that blizzard can make a good mmo. I bet it will sell terribly and end up bankrupting blizzard.

Will it have pirates and ninjas and the pirates shoot ninjas at their enemies?

Sams believes that the new MMO won't necessarily steal customers from WoW, but become a second game for Blizzard fans to enjoy at the same time
To me, this says one of two things.

Either it will be free to play, or this guy needs to get his head checked.
Heres hoping its not the latter.

Is it possible that this isn't even an RPG? They said it would be complimentary rather than competitive, and I think the only way to make that absolutely true is to go for a different audience entirely. I would be quite excited if this wasn't another formula whore like WoW was and tried to bring another platform into the age of massively multiplayer gaming.

Seriously - why do we need to get away from "slaughter X of type Y"?

If I just want to level a character very fast to enjoy the endgame I do not need big storys or complicated quests where I got to read the text first. I just want to need where to go und which dudes to kill.
Because no game developer should purposefully make an entire section of their game useless or boring. If a studio is going to design a game with leveling, it should make leveling interesting, fun, and necessary. If the only plan is to make it all easy and pointless, then they're better off cutting it from the game entirely.

Of course, that an interesting idea. What if someone made a game that was nothing but "endgame"? Y'know like raiding and PvP, except there's no levels, only tiers of gear. I wonder if that would sell well at all.

The difference is the company making the claim.

If Blizzard, Bioware or Valve tells me "it'll be really, really good" then my objections are pretty much quashed right out of the gate.

Ion Storm, not so much.
I don't think I'd include BioWare in that list. Sure they make good games, but nothing out of this world.
I, however, would; and since I was talking about me... ;-)

Maybe it'll be for free so I can play it :D. *in denial*
You may be onto something; If anyone can afford to support a F2P MMO it's them. Hell, Diablo 2 still has more players than a lot of the MMOs out there, all for free.

And that would definitely make it not compete with WoW...

I'll bet anyone $5 that it'll still have a fetch quest or make us kill 10 giraffes, just for old time's sake.
Haha, I actually saw this as a problem with the Starcraft 2 campaign. They put so much effort into making each level 'unique' and 'original', that by the end I was wondering what happened to the levels that just let me build up a base and crush the enemy at my own leisure, without any sort of wierd restrictions or objectives? Just because it usually gets overdone doesn't mean it should be scrapped outright... just don't over do it.
Hopefully Heart of hte Swarm(a game I'd much rather see released than this mmo tripe), will return to more that kind of thing. Or hopefully Legacy the Void will do that even more. I think they were experimenting and having too good of a time finding different things to do with their new engine and now that's behind us it should get less silly.

Well I'm glad to see their marketing ploy is to get everyone hyped on... nothing. Really. All we have is a "project titan" and the fact that "it'll be good. " complementary than competitive? What the hell does that even mean? I'll be able to export my Tauren warrior into the new game? That would be awesome... especially if it meant upgraded character models. Otherwise they should hoepfully keep all games open on the same subscription.

I've enjoyed WoW for a few years now, but ever since half of their department left for this new project, the clissic MMO, even with all its burnt world charm is getting old fast. Especially with the recycleing of content now. 4 old world heroic dungeons?

Them being cryptic about their new project may not be enough to hold my interest if all we have is their word that its going to be special, especially with " many years to come" being their target release date. If they can release a single screenshot that could tell me what they had in mind, maybe I they would have my attention. For now, I'm taking a break from wow, and holding out for Guild Wars 2.

Blizzard is lying. They know full well you can't play more than one MMO at a time.

Blow my mind?!
That's it! I'm buying it on release just to be able to say that I did.
