Booth babes in skimpy costumes are one of the foundations of gaming conventions.

Kicking them out is like ordering fried chicken, then peeling the breading off when you get it - sure it might be better for you, but its really just a waste.

Dont hate me but, im glad.
Some of the outfits that you can see people wear at conventions are totally inappropriate.
And some reasonable dress codes cant hurt.
Yes, they do hurt. I hate you. :)

Two words for you, Korea: You suck.
So let me get this straight... They suck... for enforcing a rule they said they'd enforce... when someone knowingly and intentionally broke it?

You're one of those people who thinks it's an injustice when they get banned for swearing in WoW, aren't you.

I'm wondering the same thing. I don't see what the problem is.

Kim Jong Jil must not have had any luck with the ladies. SO NOW NOBODY ELSE WILL EITHER! D:<
Kim Jong Il only governs North Korea. South Korea is very different.
Also Kim Jong Il has had multiple wives and has a number of children.

Is the "You suck" for Korea enforcing a dress code on booth babes?

If so, I'm ashamed.

Yes, I'm a guy, and I'm happy to see some lovely ladies scantily clad. But really, do we need models in lingerie at a trade show for video games? The general public already thinks gamers are sexually-deprived teenagers and using models to sell games isn't doing anything to help the situation.

Besides, the event organizers decided they didn't think it was appropriate, so they made a dress code and clearly communicated it. The modeling agencies didn't follow it, so they were kicked out. What would you expect?

I'm glad to see that even the event organizers have limits to what they consider acceptable and that they are willing to enforce these. Video games don't need strippers posing as cheerleaders. Save the money on the women and put it into making enjoyable games.

That's a pity. However, not being able to see the costumes in question (assuming the costumes in the pic provided are for illustration because if the organisers of this event thought those outfits are inappropriate....) I cannot make a judgement here.

But nonetheless, a big "boo hiss" (in old fashioned panto style) to the organisers for being so conservative.

I totally disagree with this. My collegues and I operate the breast liberation front and we believe that they should be allowed to not wear a shirt. because if they wear a shirt thats exactly what the sexist pigs want!

... Pants or skirts were to be long enough to cover the pelvis, while upper clothing was required to cover at least one-third of the model's back.
That's not ludicrously conservative ...and an unspecified amount of their fronts?
Thats right, I'd make one of them babes topless, and give her a cape.. hehe

You Suck? Would that be flaming? If yes, probation? I'm just kidding of course. ( Kidding to the author. But not to the others) It should be the hosters that in your opionin suck though. Because saying korea sucks is saying the flesh and blood and life suppourt of Blizzard sucks. That sucks.

OT: Does it kill to respect rules? Apparently by a fraction of the Escapist.

People showing too much flesh in Conventions are wanted. And they would want to have them there so they can see. Sorry, thats what I see. Except for some posters. I agree with following the rules. Maybe they should of asked.

Ahh here comes the flaming of korea. It was to be expected. But of course some people with a sense of right have decided they did the right thing. I'm ashamed Escapist. I'm ashamed. I hope it never happens again. To any other country. And I'm not just speaking for myself.
*Looks at a fraction of Escapist.

"You made me proud."

If you don't want game companies exploiting sexuality to sell their products, then ban booth babes entirely. going around measuring the skirts on the models doesn't make you classy.
