Activision and Blizzard's unholy alliance is growing to EA's level of "evil gaming corporation".

Depending on the future of the new Square Enix/Eidos merge, we may just have an Unholy Triumvirate on our hands.

EA being nice? Activision being evil? Someone has upset the balance!

Oh well, at least Molyneux's still being a pretentious git, if that changes we're all fucked!
If Molyneux actually changes his toon and not only lets his ego, but releases a fully realised game void of cliche, the world will end, plain and simple...

And Activision, slow down on the crack, grow up just a bit, and leave one of the best fall releases alone dammit!

EA, and then it was reborn as something completely different, and somehow nice

Ok, maybe I'm being too hard on the guy, it's just that, when I heard a new Tim Schafer title was coming out, months ago, I expected... so much more.
Agreed, I really don't think this game will live up to Pyschonauts standards, or any other of his games. I'm just not hot with the whole metal thing... the style just seems pretty restrictive in terms of imagination and originality. Of course, I could be fatally wrong, but this game still seems a deprature from the sheer wackiness of Schafer's previous games.

Also, your avatar is brilliant.

Go Double Fine ^o^

I don't know what sticks are up Activision's ass, but they must be pretty big, fat, rotting ones. They passed on Brutal the first time. They also dropped Ghostbusters along with a few other great titles, all because they "didn't see potential for yearly releases." Well, no shit. Something that doesn't suck doesn't come out every year. Look where Madden is, and where Guitar Hero is going.

I hope Double Fine wins... and I hope it does give Guitar Hero a run for its money. Then they might actually put some thought into #6 (since #5 has already been announced and is basically just giving you all the freaking songs instead of making you fight for them ~.~) instead of rehashing the same bloody game, changing the songs, and tweaking a few settings >.> And I used to like GH, until it sold out... Now its just ripping off Rock Band.

Also, last I checked, Tim Shaffer did the story, created the properties, and *cough*DEVELOPED*cough* the game, not Activision. So in this case, Activision is being the whiny little *****.

Sorry I was only vaguely kidding just to get one of those *Insert metal song here* jokes through, and even if I wasn't, I saw a guy say Brutal Legend is a Halo ripoff, no kidding. All I know about the red faction series is the latest one has a 1 mission demo, it takes place on mars, and Yahtzee doesn't like it.
*ahem* Have you noticed that Yahtzee doesn't like much in the first place? That pretty much speaks volumes right there.

Hm. Everybody's PO'd at Activision, but thinking about it more. From Activision's side, Double Fine came to them and said, "Hey, we've got this idea for a game. Fund us!" Activision went, "Huh. Not so sure that'll sell, but you've got good cred, we'll give you this much." Double Fine is like, "Yeah sure.." then some time later, "hey, about that money you gave us? We need another 15 grand to finish it."

Activision's like, "What? Sorry, guy, but we just don't think it's gonna be worth that.. make it with what we gave you already."

And then from what I understand, Double Fine basically goes "Well screw you, we'll go somewhere else for what we need," without thinking about the money that Activision already put into the game. They come to EA, who sees that Activision already paid for half or more, and hey, good deal for them, right?

'cept now Activision wants something for that money they put in in the first place, and we all call them evil for that.

Can somebody fill me in if I've gotten anything wrong there?
Actually Activision decided to drop the game during the Activision Blizzard Merger because they said they wouldnt be able to franchize-ize it, as in turn out a sequel every 9 months.

So no, Activision are not justified, they dropped it, EA picked it up, and now that EA are doing well for themselves with it, Activision are throwing the toys out of the pram.

EA may release EA sports game #347 that you got last year but at least they never actively tried to hurt the business I think they just reached the point where people don't want to be associated with them.
They officially reached that point when the head of UFC told them to get lost (you can read the news article somewhere on this website.) They treated him like crap and then wanted to snake his hard-earned profits away.

I dont see why everyone is all butt hurt about this. The game is going to SUCKIt is JACK BLACK Jack Douchebagnotfunny Black.
To be honest, I never gave a rats ass about Jack Black being in the game. The game is going to

[HEADING=2]ROCK[/HEADING]

Because it's

[HEADING=2]TIM SCHAFER[/HEADING]

The guy who made

[HEADING=2]PSYCHONAUTS[/HEADING]

Which is one of the

[HEADING=2]BEST GAMES EVER MADE[/HEADING]
Thats why everyone bought it?
Consumer [http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/pc/psychonauts?q=psychonauts] idiocy [http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/xbx/psychonauts?q=psychonauts] is no fault of the game [http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/ps2/psychonauts?q=psychonauts] designers.

Reaching an 85-90% ranking on Metacritic across three platforms shows it to be a top contender amongst games. Beyond Good and Evil [http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/ps2/psychonauts?q=psychonauts] suffered from lower sales than it should have got and that got 80-90% ratings as well.

Just because it doesn't sell doesn't mean it's a good game; conversely a best selling title does not constitute a good game either. Equally, a best selling title is by no means automatically not a good game and a poorly selling title is not automatically an impressive title in and of itself.

Judge a game on its own qualities, not on how well it sold. I would have thought such a concept would be obvious to everyone.

Okay, that's it.

I've procrastinated for too long. Getting Psychonauts now, and Modern Warfare 2 can sod the hell off.

I wonder if it would be possible to make a game about all the gaming drama in news. It'd be like some less evil version of the sims where you controll your own dev team and slowl build up to face the evil master company that goes unnamed.
