Sneaky wording there Bungie. It's likely this won't be the last we see of Halo, it may be passed to another studio, there may be a Halo game that is "unrelated" to the "triliogy" but either way, we will likely see more Halo.

But yes, I don't think it counts as milking if the games are still good, and it's not like the games aren't good.

Infact, there better then average. Also, Halo 3: ODST, is a spin off, and Halo Reach is a prequel, it's like the other Middle Earth books, no one complains about LotR's not being a sequel because there are other books, do they?

The gameplay is extremely enoyable, the story isn't as bad as people make it out to be.

That's an arcade game. Not a serious "Game-with-a-story." Although, I do think that Halo isn't being milked, although it has lost the fun it had when it was first released.
