Egyptian gods from space?
Sounds sucpiciously like Stargate to me...
Just what I was thinking. I, for one, am going to give bungie the benefit of the doubt and wait until the damn game is even ANNOUNCED before I start to judge it. They've earned that much.

Bungie should stop wasting money on trademarks and buy monocles and top hats
The answer to everything.

Side note, you wouldn't know where to get monocles would you? Apparently I'd look strange in a fez and monocle, so of course I have to try it.

I just want to see a bungie game on the shelves that isn't halo. Dont get me wrong they are fairly good and all that but they are a little dragged out.
Check out the older Bungie stuff, all the Marathon's. They were decent. Halo was.. Was.. Tbh I found it way too easy and boring, and the story wasn't that much either. But Marathon man, Marathon was awesome.

Wait..so now no one else can make games about Egyptians in space but bungie and activison?
I think they just copyrighted the drawings.
No, the first is right. If you don't go after copyright, it lapses. If you made a game in space with Egyptians, specifically with Osiris, Bungie would more than likely go after you.

Hmm... You're right in that there are 7 named Archangels... but Archangels are NOT Seraphs. In fact, Archangels are far lower down in the angel heirarchy (I'm not religious but I AM fascinated with mythology).

Someone want to find out who currently has the Stargate License?

They might be planning to use those theories that aliens helped Egyptians build the pyramids as a basis. Who knows, I'm half-looking forward to this.

Then... we antagonize them by making one with Set?

Oh the Too Human syndrome.
More like Marathon syndrome.

That sounds... really really stupid. Too Human was a disgrace, GRNDL-1? Seriously? F*** you, Silicon Knights.

I'm surprised at Bungie. They usually try a new tack on something and make their own mythology, but now they're making a totally unique, nobody's-ever-thought-of-doing-this sci-fi re-imagining of not only Biblical themes but... hold on to your socks... Egyptian themes! We are so very very clever here at Bungie. Buy our pretty games, you slack-jawed peasants. We're original if we say we are.
Honestly? This has pretty much been the standard in all their titles. Marathon pulled a shitload of names from history with about as much randomness as this does. From what little I played of Halo the same thing seemed to be in effect there. I can't remember about Pathways into Darkness or Myth, but their first release had you trying to avoid the Labyrinth Minotaur. Now, here again.

Of course its too early to properly tell anything, but it sounds like this new game will be halo but with the sort-of egyptians taking the place of the forerunners, having had aliens help them build the pyramids. Now the aliens are back and you have to kill them all or something.

Speaking of angels, wouldn't it be nice to see someone use the actual discriptions? They're quite interesting and far more intimidating than "winged humanoid in toga and occasionally roman armour ceremonial muscle cuirasses". Especially cherubs.

Oh this is great. I LOVE Christian mythology so I got very happy at the sight of the word. Egyptian mythology was a big interest of mine a while back. "I am looking forward to this game" is the understatement of the century

I'll probably end up liking it.

Damn you, Bungie. Signing a deal with Activision.
I know what you're saying. At least Bill Gates doesn't even pretend he knows shit about games and probably didn't want to commandeer the development of them, so Bungie was left alone for the most part, I believe.

Unfortunately, we all know the same thing can't be said about Kotick.

The registrations paint a portrait of a game that uses concepts from history and religion within the context of a sci-fi world

Come on, make a Stargate game!
