Call of Duty Might Take a DeLorean Into the Future

Wait, isn't MW2 SET in the future already? Last time I checked, we don't have Heart Beat sensors that can clip onto Assault Rifles

Who else thinks that those so-called "Future Warfare" games would end up such generic sci-fi that nobody will pay any heed? Hypothetically speaking, which would you rather play:

1) Star Wars: Battlefront 3
2) Halo: Reach 2
3) Aliens vs Predators
4) Call of Duty: Future Warfare

1. I would play the fuck out of one.

Anyway, I don't see bad in the fact that they're getting their basses covered, but I do think that the CoD series needs to just bight the bullet and die already. You made five six (almost forgot you, WaW, how dare I) great games, I think they should make one more game to wrap up the cliff hanger sequel bait at the end of MW2, then can it. Or, alternately, get as many people from the team that made the WWII games, have them come back and make one last game for the PS2 and PC.

I swear it looks just like a prettied up Battlefield 2142.

So, it'll effectively be BF2142 except that it won't be good? Hardly a surprise.

I can have high hopes it's a BF2142 with better graphics and nostalgia. And hopefully isn't too similar to Battlefront 3 when it comes out.

Might get me into CoD, but probably not. ;P

I would not mind seeing Infinity Ward make a Star Wars FPS. I know there is a Star Wars mod out there for the PC version of COD 4. I think if Lucas Arts hired the right writers they could make a good Star Wars FPS with Infinity Ward.

I have played both Star Wars: Battle Front games. I just thought it would have been cool to see a Star Wars FPS made by Infinity Ward is all.

It worked wonders for the Battlefield series with '2142' (before it went the way of all EA games online).

Personally I'd consider this a long overdue second wind for Call of Duty, having never raised an eyebrow at anything past the second entry myself. If they go sci-fi, I'll sing songs of praise and dance my way to the store.

Personally I'd hope to see the Space Warfare version of COD.

Face it, COD rules the roost when it comes to scripted events, and what could be more fantastic than being exposed to a hanger bay experiencing battle damage induced violent decompression during a hostile boarding action by Space Marines. Your ship, their Marines... their ship, your Marines... who cares.

Science fiction wet dreams.

Were I writing the script, I'd be trying to shoehorn in as many of those experiences as possible.

Besides, ask yourself how much more jaded were you for MW2 events compared to MW? The quality was all there, but it just didn't have the same wow impact.

Suddenly find myself in the mood to go and reread Old Man's War.
