My tip that i always use, is what i would do if i won alot of money.
What kind of house i would get and so on. Usually dont get o far before it
works for me.

What is ur tips or tricks? To get to sleep easier?

Sleeping pills generally do it.
But they run the risk of making yourself dependant on sleeping pills to sleep, and thus you can't sleep if you don't take any...
So I wouldn't recommend them.

To get to sleep?
Like, curing the insomnia I've had since May?
Erm, try logging off this site.
It generally helps.
And shutting your computer down, for that matter.

Also, if all else fails, eat.

If you're really desperate and don't care about keeping brain cells, getting into a headbutting fight with a wall does wonders.

But calming music helps if you don't want to risk brain damage.
Andy McKee(I think) has a bunch of pretty calm songs.
I suggest looking up Drifting.

Oh, and getting off of this site quickly also helps a lot.
If you don't, you will stay here until it's far too late.

Lay down and close your eyes.

Seriously, my mom used to tell me this as a kid and it still works.

take some melatonin, you can usually find this in the holistic health/pharmacy isle at your local pharmacy/supermarket.

for those who have not studied the endocrine system in biology, melatonin is the hormone that maes your brain tired, and allows/forces you to sleep. taking melatonin supplements is an easy way to overcome insommnia, and there is little risk of dependence unless you start constantly overdosing.

EDIT: oh, and in case you don't feel like taking it supplementally, melatonin is generally only produced by your body in appreciable amounts when there is little to no light. exempting red lights. so turn your computer off, and go lie in a dark room.

Really, now?
Hmmm.
Do you suppose that is why I've had more and more urges to bash my head into the wall, lately?
Too bad most of the time I want to I can't, else I'd wake someone up.

It's either that or an increasing sense of frustration with the world.
Probably a side effect of sleep deprivation.

The only thing that really does the job for me is beer. A couple of pints, not enough to get drunk but enough to feel an effect, a couple of hours before I want to sleep. I get really sleepy as the effect wears off. Unfortunately, the cost and implications of dependency combine to make sure it's not really an option.

The best I can hope for these days is "stop drinking caffeinated drinks and hope that my brain is kind enough to slow down and let me sleep". Works about 20% of the time. As a result I regularly find myself staying up until 7-8am and sleeping in until early evening.

Nothing!. I embrace my nocturnal lifestyle and fall asleep when I goddamn want to. Incidentally, if sleep is required in order to meet a super important event happening in the morning then I just put on some classical music or listen to lecture recordings from a theoretical physics course. Sends you right to bed it does...

Also sex, the moments after coitus is generally sleep ridden.

Try letting go of your entire body. Just relax and try not to think of anything. Turn your brain off if possible.
Helps every time.

Or both, knowing me.
I get especially angered when sleep deprived, so society pisses me off more than normal.
And then I become more anti-social...

Oh, yeah!
I haven't slept in two days.
Are you saying you're already addicted to sleeping pills and can't sleep without them?
That's just bad, man.

You're also not the only one who hasn't slept much lately.
Last night? Half an hour.
I pretty much haven't slept in two days.
Though, on normal days it's generally only two, three hours at max, so I guess I'm used to it.
