Black Lagoon: Mature series about modern-day pirates/smugglers, good amount of humour, plenty of drama, and a LOT of violence. If you want to avoid creepy there's a few episodes in the second barrage that you may want to steer clear of (those bloody twins... ~shudder~), but other than that, it's fantastic, and the third season is in the works at the moment. Also... Revy.
That'd be my recommendation.

I don't especially like anime but I love Black Lagoon.

Bokurano. A fantastic and touching, if soul-crushingly depressing, mecca anime.

That doesn't make me feel like a creep or pervert? (preferably a short anime.)

Edit: Seen most of Cowboy Bebop, and parts of Ghost in the shell. Both were very enjoyable.

I recommend Gundam 00.

It. Was. AWESOME. Not only is the action good, but it is SMART. There are a lot of brilliant moments in that show.

And I have not seen the second season yet which is apparently even BETTER.
The ending makes you feel better, but everything they changed can seem strange. Also, 00 Raiser is almost as God Mode as Gundam gets.

how about this: don't waste your time. not only does anime take you down a dark, lonely path of only having otaku's for friends, but you could also be watching justice league unlimited instead. at least JLU is good.
hold on.. I watch anime.. and i hang out with friends only one of which is starting to get into anime... and I still watch the JLU? and batman the animated series? as well as read both styles of comics?

my question to you.... good sir.... why do you hate the anime/ manga scene?
long story, but an interesting one if you're into drama;
because in my experience, anime turns kids into socially awkward otakus who've never seen american classics like old yeller or gone with the wind, yet they think they have every right to scream and shout at you as they try to make you watch deathnote, or some other boring shit about japanese kids with demon powers. but this is only what i observe from the kids at the high school i just graduated from, i hope i'm just seeing the worst of what anime can do.

i used to be reeeally into anime, in middle school. permanently ruined my life. i was branded a narutard which stuck until i went to a different school. in that time in middle school, i was bullied every day and i never knew why, it wasn't until i was older that i realized just how retarded anime was. but somehow, out of that hell, came a pretty girl who also liked anime. she was nice, kind, and she liked me. i came back to the school where all the kids who branded me were, but now i had changed myself; no more weird things. that means no anime, now talking weird, no nothing, do what everyone else was doing. it actually worked out pretty good, i was a much different person. later, i finally asked out that girl, and we had an amazing time together. however, anime got in the way of our relationship a few times. spend halloween at my house or go to youmacon? she went to youmacon, and i sat on my couch with a handful of unwatched scary movies. but regardless, she made me forget about all the bad things around me because it meant so much to me that she loved me. back in january, she dumped me, on finals week. i was so broken i couldn't focus on half my finals and flunked my pre-calc exam. it got much worse from there; i began to alienate my friends, developed a drinking habit, bullies came back, my parents are so involved in this ongoing horrible drama on my moms side they begin to pay less attention to me, i cut myself a couple times because i couldn't deal with the fact that i knew everything was happening because it was my fault, it was bad, really bad. last summer was the greatest summer of my life, this summer is going to be the worst summer of my life.

so my point is that anime is like a mafia; if you try to leave it, it'll fuck up your life. once you're in too deep, there's no way out.
So obviously Anime was to blame, not the intolerant assholes who bullied you. Awesome reasoning there.
i had a mid life crisis trying to figure out who to put the blame on, and i was obviously still doing something wrong to get bullied, so i blamed it on what i thought caused it. but i'm glad you read my whole story, that means a lot to me when i open up like that, thank you.

and yeah, i hate those asshole, definately gonna fuck up their house over the summer. chop down a tree and TP the house? maybe i'll even tag the side of their house with a swastika, epic win.

To answer your question... NO.

I say that because every GOOD anime has something that's either creepy or pervy.

Samurai champloo is cowboy bebop but in the past.
Those don't count as they have their share of creepy/pervy moments.

Even Ranma 1/2 and Inuyasha fall into that category.
creepy/pervy parts? there really aren't any at all in samurai champloo

And prove that you have learned nothing. All you should do is all you can. They cannot bother you anymore, so move on and try to live a fulfilling life. Inner strength will benefit you a dozen times more than attacking those who torment you.
you're absolutely right. but i'm in this hard core punk rock phase, i'd feel a hell lot better if i just fucked with them a little bit.

Black Lagoon is fun (a lot like cowboy bebop but pirates in the South China Sea and darker).

Outlaw Star is fun (again like Bebop but more over the top).

Toradora: My favorite romantic anime sweet and sometimes targic. You can watch the first five anime streaming for free on Anime News Network and for 14$ you can watch the rest (26 total)

Code Geass is fun, good Mecha fights, political mancinations and drama. There is some fan service but I barly noticed the first time I watched because the story drew me in so well.

Trigun: Another space western though very diffrent than bebop. Its about a pacifist gunfighter a must see for anyone.

Fruits Basket: Chicken soup and a kiss on a cheek packaged up in an anime

Haibane Renmei: An emotionily intensive anime a little slow at the begening (enjoyable but slow taking time to introduce all the charictors) the last half of this anime I couldn't put down staying up tell 1AM watching it, it also has only 13 episodes.

Full Metal Alchemist and Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood: Both feature the same charactersand same universe but tell very different stories. They are both masterpieces, but on the longer side (51 and 65 respectively)

Samurai Champloo: By a lot of the same people who did bebop similar story structure two and musical focus, not as good but still fun.

Death Note: Fun mind games forming a grate cat and mouse game

Besserk: Great dark epic fantasy story, cliffhanger ending to the anime that makes you want to read the manga and the animation needs a lot of work. The manga is rated as the best ever.

Eden of the East: Only 11 episodes and 2 movies (the second one is not out here yet) a fun series about people giving money to save Japan. Its hard for me to discribe, but dam good. Some good mystery and the feeling of suspense that a good spy movie gives. All of its streaming on netflex.

Slayers: Like a good game of DnD with a bunch of friends who enjoy a good laugh. The anime has a lot of series but each one is 26 episodes and very self contained. The first series in fact would work as two 13 episode sereis so if you don't have time you can still get into it and watch more as its convenit. Rightstuff also has great deals on slayers.

s-CRY-ed: Supper power people fighting each other just enough depth to be engaging, but not preachy, has all the best parts of a 300 episode anime at 26 episodes

Darker than Black: Similar feeling to Ghost in the Shell but less cold and more action.

Beck Mongolian Chop Squad: very good band movie and also feels very real. Watching this show makes you feel like your on stage and the passion for music radiates from every second of the show.

Kino's Journey: Episodic travel journey through this very strange world rely engaging with each new episode showing something different.

Mushishi (Mushi-shi): Another episodic travelers journey amazing art and animation and relay spectacular stories also full of a lot of themes of traditional Japanies culture making it very different than almost anything else (most anime is more western than Mushishi)

Hellsing Ultimate (not Hellsing): How vampires should be (no sparkling). Just Alucard kicking ass and taking names.
