I'm a big Halo fanboy, but i know bullshit when i hear it, and i'm pretty doubtful THIS would have been a WoW killer.

Well I have yet to encounter such annoying benders on Modern Warfare 2 PC compared to Xbox or PS3, or even on Left 4 Dead, but you have reminded me of the idiots of counter-strike.Vrex360 said:*ahem*Catkid906 said:While Yes people play Halo for the online, I don't think the intelligent PC gamers would have liked it... you know, because it's console frat boys who mainly play Halo online (Bewilderingly).
Obnoxious frat boys are not limited to consoles, I've met plenty of unpleasant little (*censored*)'s on PC servers as well. They swear, scream and insult people just as gratuitously as even the most loud Xbox Live player. Believe me, playing a PC does not remove the feeling of competative gameplay coppled with being anonymous. Playing online, or indeed any form of online interaction causes this kind of behavior. It is neither limited to a game nor a preferred game machine.
I apologise if I seemed a little course then, it's just it really bothers me when I hear people badmouth Halo's community or Xbox live in general then praise the PC community which in all honesty has the same problem.
To be fair, that may not have been your intention so I must add that I have no problem with you playing PC or disliking Halo.
That said, I agree with the gyst of what you said, i.e that the MMORPG crowd and the FPS crowd don't interact much as they want different things from a game and as such the MMORPG community would be uninterested in a spin off of an FPS game and the majority of FPS players would in turn decide not to bother with the MMO Halo and stick with the FPS.
As such, it would kind of be a business failure, so I see your point.
That's exactly what I thought.Marq said:That screenshot looks like a reskin mod for WoW.
yeah I don't want to fall into a stereotype, and while I do enjoy all kinds of games, currently where I am in life I just don't have a lot of time to invest in RPGs even if I do want to (I started with some RTS games, and most recently ironically I got Halo Wars just to have something new)Cliffie said:This is exactly the problem. Halo is huge, nobody can disagree with that whether they actually like the game or not. The problem with making a Halo MMO however is that the people that enjoy Halo and fast paced FPS-games don't really like or have the patience for MMORPGs.duchaked said:okay, I'm just gonna put it out there
I love Halo
but this...no no no thank goodness it's a no
Atleast that's what I think, out of curiosity though I really would have liked to see how a Halo MMO would turn out. My guess is that it would have been something like Tabula Rasa... and that one wasn't all that great to be honest :/
EDIT:
This have prolly been said a million times before in this thread but w/e... I'll post it anyway D:
This here, and White Glint for the win!Thyunda said:Halo's not the sort of thing you can make an MMO from...the universe doesn't have nearly enough variety. I mean, you can include some new aliens, I guess, but if you go too far and start making up monsters and things, it's just going to be a science-fantasy MMO with 'Halo' on the front cover.
