Is it wrong that I'm more interested in the Confucious biopic than anything else in that article?

And people, for all your China-bashing, thank god for their one-part system, otherwise the country would probably fall into complete disarray.

News like this reminds the majority of us Escapists users how lucky we are to live in great countries like Canada and the USA.

...Canada, anyway.

It's ok they aren't missing much, Avatar was a over hyped and pretty looking, but thats about it, everything else was unoriginal and boring.

there's no freedom in China, a Dictature remains what it is. just look at China's 4000 years History only emperors and Tyrans...

this pic is a good example:

Funny thing is, the murder of people is not a part of any system this is actually Socialist, funny thing, that.

Of course, I get this feeling you're trolling, so whatever.

that picture was a little big too much indeed... but many "socialist" regimes are doing the same isn't it? Venezuela, Nicaragua, Ecuador just to name a few...

Actually, they could more accurately be discribed as "Socialist dictatorships", where the dictatorship part is the problem, not the Socialism.

Also, there is a difference between National Socialism and Socialism.

yes indeed.

Well that sucks, I can only imagine the controversy if a movie like Fight Club or V For Vendetta tried to come out over there.

The Chinese government can ban stuff - and they do.

They chose Avatar. Probably because of the big blue people

Relocation is not the worst of what goes on in China.
I saw a picture of a man asking a tank to stop...what kind of person wouldn't...I bet it worked out well and he could finish crossing the street.

So a movie creating a story of a fictional people somehow represents a real situation in China? Looks like someone spent why to much time watching that movie.
Have you never heard of an allegory? Animal Farm is about more than talking animals, M.A.S.H is about more than the Koren war, and Avatar is about more than humans fighting aliens.

I'm not surprised. China just doesn't really care what the world thinks anymore. Shame though, that they are banning such a beautiful and powerful movie. I think that what they are really afraid of the ripples of social change that this is creating environmentally, as well as socially. Oh well, i just hope that when China tears itself apart (hopefully that never happens), that they don't take the rest of us with them.

Oh, well. More blue boobs for us.

On a serious note, it is quite egocentric for the Chinese bloggers to say that only they know the pain of relocation. Well, that and emo. And they don't want to be called "emo", do they?
