Interestingly enough I was asked a load of riddles today. Here are the ones I remember.

A man attempts to marry his widows sister, is this legal? Yes, unless he didn't officially divorce with the woman's sister beforehand.

In a bungalow, everything is painted purple, the windows, the floor, the curtains, everything. What color are the stairs? Do bungalows even have stairs?

How many pairs of animals did Moses put on the Ark? Moses?

Is there a 4th of July in Britain? Naturally.

How many months have 28 days? One. No wait, all of them.

The maker doesn't want it, the buyer doesn't use it, and the user doesn't see it, what is it? Don't have a clue.

No doubt the intelligent members of the Escapist will know the answers instantly =P, but it was worth a try.

Now here's another:


A horse is attached to a 15 foot rope, and there is a bale of hay 25 feet away. The horse can still reach. How does it do this?

Depends. Is the rope attached to anything else, and is that object between the horse and the hay?

If yes to both questions, then the horse can reach because he can access 15 feet around said unknown object, so one end of that circle to another end is 30 feet, and if the horse is on one end, he can still reach the hay, because it's 25 feet away, and he can reach 30.

While that scenario may occur it is not the answer I was looking for.

mmmm something having to do with the amount of weeks in a year...the amount of floors in the hotel...52 is an unlucky number with which 52 randomn motorcycles drop onto the man...? I doubt I got within light years close...

I have two:

A man lives in a hotel, and everyday he gets the lift from the top floor (20th) to the bottom, and goes to work. However on the way back up after work he only goes to the 8th floor, and walks the rest of the way.

You are in a room, n which all the walls facing south. Out one of the windows you see a bear, what colour is it?

the second one is white because your direcly at the north pole (since all walls are facing south)

Without touching the bottle, the cork, the string, or the coin with your hand or anything you might hold (like a stick or gun), how could you make the coin fall and hit the bottom of the wine bottle.

3)In a family, there is a mother, a father, and 7 daughters. Each daughter has exactly one brother. How many people are in the family?

4)There are three boxes containing fruit. The first box is marked CHERRIES, the second box is marked BANANAS, and the third box is marked CHERRIES AND BANANAS. Each of the boxes is labelled incorrectly. How could you label each box correctly if you were allowed to select only one fruit from one of the boxes?

5)If it takes seven men three hours to dig five holes, how long would it take for one man to dig half of a hole?

I find it to be easier if you just add up the thousands, then do (20+30)+(40+10) and you're wrong. It is 4100.

Well a "famous" deck of cards that crop up in a casino are Bicycle Brand Deck of cards, I only know because my friend had some and they have an "air-cushioned" finish what ever that is

I think you'll find it's illegal to marry a dead man.

I find it to be easier if you just add up the thousands, then do (20+30)+(40+10) and you're wrong. It is 4100.

Actually, I think the answer might be 2100, note the wording.

- 1000 + 20 + 1000 + 30 + 1000 + 40 + 1000 + 10 = 2100
