COD, Other Games Blamed for Relationship Troubles

WHile it's pretty obvious there have been breakups due to too much gaming, it could be anything, video games just happen to be the thing here, besides this is a report from the Daily Mail, therefor making it total bullshit. The Mail, The Sun and The Star are not reputable newspapers, remember the Daily Mail is the same news paper that made up the GT Rothberg story, they are nothing more than Fox News in Britain, leave htem alone unless you're ridiculing them.

Also that list is just...odd. Relation ship splits over Mario Kart? Assassins Creed? Fucking Angry Birds?

I can testify to this. Some people seriously can't get the balance between relationship and hobbies right. My friend was in a relationship with this guy, she was in Greece for 2 weeks and came back, went straight over to see him, and when she got there he ignored her for "just two more games" on Modern Warfare. And that wasn't the only time it happened either.
Of course it's unfair to blame games instead of just hobbies as a whole. A relationship will fail if a person spends more time in the cinema by him/herself, reading books without communicating until finished, watching TV, mountain climbing... whatever, than they do on their partner all the time.

Cthun was fun times, getting lasered for 500K once was priceless.
I still remember my whole Guild got killed in 30 sec due to the chain lighting.

He is one of those boss if anyone mess up the whole raid wipes.

He wiped half our raid right at the start because someone got to close at the start I was like 3rd from the end too so I got a huge number. It may have been when our GL edged out and checked on C'thun for some reason, or that may have been a different time.

Really? WoW down below Resident Evil, Mario Kart and Assassin's Creed?

That doesn't sound right at all.
If you look at that list of games, most of the games near the top are games that a massive amount of people play casually. Most girlfriends will find their boyfriend playing COD or Fifa at some stage. I don't want to get stereotypical but it's likely that a huge amount of WoW players don't have girlfriends and it therefore isn't as big an issue as the other games.

Keep in mind, this study was of gamers IN relationships. It doesn't even take into account all the guys out there who are just too busy gaming to bother chasing girls.

Although that poll representative may think it's a sad thing, I don't. For one, if guys are abandoning their girls to play games, that means those games must be pretty damn awesome. Second, the world has enough humans, a few of them not procreating isn't something to cry about.

Of course, one alternative explanation is that UK girls are just too demanding and aren't worth the time. (Note: I don't make that claim... but it would explain the data)

There's a simple reason why WoW is so low on the list.... WoW players never leave the basement, thus their only relationships tend to be with other WoWers.

Yes that was implied four or five times before you got here, good work.

OT: I wish they would use their brains for these surveys. If you would rather do something (e.g. Gaming) than do something with your significant other isn't that an indicator that the relationship might be on rocky ground? How many couples actually discussed the issue rather than letting it end up with snarky comments and complaints? I want real data before I ever consider this stuff valid.

Agreed. Surprised they didn't try to blame it on immigrants too...

Not really universally true. I play WoW and none of my closest friends do. Not everyone who plays is a basement dwelling troglodyte.

And honestly, if playing a game is more fun than spending time with your significant other it's a crappy relationship you should get out of anyway.

This is what I always find weird, in my school I'm probably one of if not the biggest gamers (what I consider to be a gamer) around and yet I don't spend nearly as much time as others in my school on these games. And when I did have a girlfriend, she came first, games second. And yes, I am from the UK (which is why I find "throw catch" football's name ridiculous).

I can guarantee that if I was actually in a relationship, said relationship would take priority over gaming. The only possible problem would be games with set save points.
