I'm in a similar boat. Because our public transport system suck balls, I need to drive to get to work / visit friends.Tears of Blood said:Nah, I'm not gonna' give you shit for that, though I know they caused that oil spill.
I mean, I hate almost all of the oil companies, the problem is that I fucking need gas. Dx I live in America, man, there is nowhere I can just walk to, I NEED to drive, and that means I NEED gas. x_x
I don't see any problem. They pay the developers so they can develop exclusive content, or content that will be exclusive for a while. What's wrong with that? They don't HAVE to. It's like, if you're in the music business, and you want to give money to a band to make music for you, but the deal is that the music can only be bought from you and nobody else, that's totally fair. Otherwise you're just giving them money for no reason.mr_pants66 said:do you want Microsofts bad business in an alphabetical or order of events.
like look at it they pay other (3rd party) studios (rockstar, infinityward) to hold back content to other consoles, in my mind that is playing dirty they are using the fact they have insane amounts of money as a tool of leverage.
like look at halo they stole that off Mac just look Steve jobs already shown it them *boom* Microsoft jumps in and buys it out for the xbox
(excuse any grammar mistakes)
A friend of mine found grass in a burger. Like grass from a field. Atleast it looked like field grass.GrammarLad said:Found a black hair in my milkshake, so, no more McDonalds for a while![]()
Em welcome to the Escapist but by defition a boycott is not buying something but making a statement about it because you don't agree with something that is being done by them. So a boycott is a perfectly valid thing just some people forget that it involves not buying it. Also I think with what they are doing regarding the next CoD that the boycott did have an impact. Considering what has happened to IW I think it was much more of an Activision based decision to cut said content myself.Lunatitch said:I don't boycott any company, it's useless... All remember the big "MW2 Boycott"?
Eventually, you will be tempted to purchase some product from said company. And like 88chaz88 said; if you don't like the game (or product) then don't buy that game/product.
Also, HiLong time lurker, first time poster (I think...).
You don't know anything about Socialism.Cassita said:It's called a free-market. Would you prefer socialism?Tears of Blood said:2. Wal-Mart (Terrible, evil business practices that kill small businesses)
Do you know why Wal-Mart is big? Because they are doing something well.
Do you know why Wal-Mart are successful? Because their products are cheap and plentiful.
Wal-mart provides hundred of thousands of jobs for people of all ages and skills - some who would not be able to make a living otherwise.

Freedom > socialism.
No, I think Capitalism is the only way to go. The only problem is that Wal-Mart beats the system and is altogether just terrible in pretty much every way.Cassita said:It's called a free-market. I'm well aware, you're just crazy for thinking that absolute free-market is a good thing.Cassita said:I don't think you understand what a free-market is.Tears of Blood said:
I'm not completely sure how it works in the US, but anyone in Australia living with the misconception that we have a free market is either functionally retarded or willfully ignorant.Cassita said:There's no room for ethics in a free-market.Arachon said:SNIP
True, yet the regulation is still not "Socialism", have you ever heard of a mixed economy?Cassita said:There's no room for ethics in a free-market.Arachon said:SNIP
A boycott is not an apathy toward a company's products, is the absolute refusal to give money to, purchase from, trade with, or otherwise support an entity, such as a person, company, product, or service.brunothepig said:I don't choose to boycott a company for a couple of reasons. One missed sale is not going to affect them. And if they make something I want, I'm not gonna say "no I'm not buying that cause their CEO kicks puppies" or something.
I will boycott a company if I don't want anything of theirs... I haven't bought anything from Apple. I have been meaning to get a massive iPod though. But Mac's suck for what I do with computers, don't care about the iPad/iPhone. Can't afford 160GB iPod right now. So I guess I'm boycotting Apple, but it's nothing personal.
Also, a few of the posts above this one give plenty more reasons why they suck.Cassita said:It's called a free-market. Would you prefer socialism?Tears of Blood said:2. Wal-Mart (Terrible, evil business practices that kill small businesses)
