Well I'm sure it's possible, but it would be quite the chore. What with the current state of the economy, I don't think the citizens would respond very well to a foreign nation(s) trying to take the place over. And they all have guns, so that would get difficult.

I don't mean to flame your armed forces, good as they may be, but from what I understand, the SAS are trained to invade countries but not take them over. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think the SAS are going to sneak into the White House, kill the president, and fill in for him without anyone noticing. Also, there aren't enough SAS to launch a behind-the-scenes battle, either.

Didn't you know. One SAS regiment is supposedly able to take over the average-szed country. And not a 3rd world one, a developed country.

At least, not until they bring in a heavy gun control policy. Ha, the english and canadians are responsible for the second amendmant. We burned the white house in 1812 just to show you we could. And the only reason you won the war of independance was because we let you. We had more worthwhle colonies to protect with the bulk of our armed forces.

Uh huh. The war stopped because the reason for the kerfuffle (France, war with, USA selling weapons to, UK blockading US and forcibly removing deserters from US ships & soil) was ended. At that point British forces had gained slitghtly more ground in America than American forces had gained in Canada, buty everyone just decided to give everything back "quid pro anti bellum" I believe is the phrase, though I could be wrong.

Our country is in the top 5 for size in land area, 3rd in population to India and China. Quite a few people, in the southeast especially, have firearms of their own. A well trained military here and everywhere else in the world. Yes if you invade us we probably could attack you too on your turf. Then again people are boring and will just negotiate it out.
