Holy mackarel! I never thought of that, We need Ubisoft to make a Assassins Creed in space!
I have a better idea, let's get another Star Wars: Bounty Hunter game instead?

I'd love an Assassin's Creed set in the 17-1800s, though.

I just can't wait until we get to play as Desmond and assassinate people in the modern era, but I'm worried it's going to become too much like Splinter Cell...

Actually. When you think about it Splinter Cell and AC have a lot in common from a production standpoint.

Both are by Ubisoft.
Both had fairly flawed original games.
Both had improved sequels.
Both had a third game that blew the rest of the series away.

By that logic, the next Assassin's Creed game will be a buggy, impossible to run, mess and it's a sad decline into mediocre shooter obscurity after that.

:(

Oooh... And Jack the Ripper is like a rogue assassin that you have to kill!
Or you ARE J the R, that would be an interesting twist... so won't be done!
I thought that too, but didn't bother to edit and put that in because someone would have thought of it already.
Only problem with playing as Jack The Ripper, he wasn't so much an assassin, just a twisted guy who killed hookers and took apart their insides, and even though I know we all kill the hookers in GTA so we can get our money back, I think something like that would cause a lot of controversy and also, not make a very good game, especially considering I think Jack only killed like 4 or 5 people.
You must have missed Operation Darkness. Jack the Ripper was reformed and added to the ranks of an elite Allied special forces group in WW2 otherwise made up of two werewolves, a fire-starter, and some noobs on a secret mission to assassinate Hitler. He and Eliza Van Helsing were the bladed weapon experts even as everyone else used guns. Including the big English werewolf; he was good with assault rifles.
It's history. You can't deny it.

OMFG how cool would it be to go toe to toe with some of Victorian Europe's finest? Like Sherlock Holmes(yes, fictional, but come on...) or even Moriarty. Maybe hopefully Jack the Ripper.
Maybe even you play as Jack the Ripper?
He was actually an assassin, and the reason for the assassinations were known only to him and, well, Desmond.
Having recently read League of Extraordinary Gentleman: Century: 1910 (Attack of the Colon, like that time I ate a Big Mac), Jack's story was an all-singing rippapalooza. I can just imagine the jaunty musical numbers with Sukey Tawdry.

...I still think the next game should be set in Post World war 1 russia going into communist Russia (Those who know modern history will be aware of the instability of Russia at this point). In other words, the perfect setting..and as russia was rather backwards in this age, it's not inappropriate to still run around with daggers, swords, assasination blade, etc.

I'd like one set during the french revolution so we can do abit of scarelt pimpernelling around paris and shit :)
Oooo, I like that one. This could be the turning point of of the brotherhood where they realize the power of mob rule and end up forming the crowd to storm the Bastille.
Thirded. Sure Victorian London would be awesome. But if I were a French developer based in Paris I'd certainly want my history spanning epic to include the French Revolution and the Napoleonic Wars.

Although in addition to Victorian England and Revolutionary France I think I might also like to see: Tudor England, Revolutionary America and Reformation Germany.

Admittedly I'm not sure that some of those would work. Revolutionary America would probably have some boring architecture and I'm not entirely sure how Reformation Germany would work out.

I was more excited by Victorian England Assassin's Creed. Top hats improve everything.
We'll just incorporate top hats into the standard astronaut suit.

Two words. French Revolution.

There is so much potential for cool crap to do there, from overthrowing the monarchy to surviving the Reign of Terror, maybe you get to kill Jean-paul Marat. The climax of the game could be an attempted assassination of Napoleon, maybe even sabotaging his forces at Waterloo?

Why set it the same place twice? Because the game came out a year after the second game, making it a glorified expansion pack. HURR HURR

But seriously though, assuming they continue the story after Brotherhood (i haven't played it yet but will do shortly) then i'm sure it'll change time zones... probably to the present day, seeing as how we've got all this build-up with Desmond. The biggest problem i'm seeing though is how they're going to fit knives and swords into the future, when silenced handguns are probably really the only way to go when the enemy has machineguns, armour and god knows what else. I would like to see a Victorian-era Assassin's Creed setting though!

Kill someone, and then... Monocle smile! Plus, what's not to love about dapper chaps in top hats?

Do want.

Yeah yeah, i know that smartass, just figured feudal japan would be a nice setting and having eastern and western assassins fight would be pure awesome. I'm just not sure exactly what to call Altair's and Ezio's little group of assassins, other than assassins.

If they set an assassin's creed in 18th century Boston, as that CAD webcomic suggested years ago, I would kill myself with happiness.

I can imagine Assassin's Creed in space... you puncture their air tank and have them suffocate. And in space, no one can hear your postmortem monologue.

And I love the crown on the top hat. That's extreme gentlemanliness.

I completely agree with Stout on that.

Though I'm not sure how possible it is for space assassination.
Ezio stabs the guy in the neck... IN SPACE!

They only had a year to make this game, and they spent it shoving in multiplayer
