Ouch poor leliana D:

They really should have just handled it like ME2 with the whole save game import but I guess thats what happens when you give yourself a stupidly small development cycle...

Also nice work on Erin Hawke.
But you have the choice to import your saved Data. You can choose a generic "dragon Age: origins" history that uses it's own "choices" but you can choose to import saved data and it uses all the decisions you've made up to that point.

Also noticed they took another shot at the copy-paste dungeons

Is it really retconning? I mean, maybe it was set up for a twist! She is a witch after all- Oh wait Lelianna? I thought you mean Morrigan. Nevermind, yeah, that's kinda-
And Zevran is still alive? Will the Marabakari (Marabi? Punjavi? Whatever) war hound make an appearance? ...I want my DA:O character back : (

This. I was really disappointed to play the PS3 version over my friend's and see just how little things changed between my transferred over 360 game and his comic-decisions PS3 game. Though I did like that, since I got to transfer over, I was able to see I can bone the only attractive asari from ME1 (the one that was inside that brain-plant-thing's sack) come ME3. Sweeeeet.

Also, you all should know that the head writer or one of the upper dev leaders has always had a strong bias for Lelianna.

Speaking from experience, you'll actually see none at all - as someone else who played Origins (and the Awakening expansion) "the good way", I can attest that none of my decisions were ever contradicted by events in the sequel.
Yeah, I figured you'd only really run into retcon issues if you played the game like your name was Lobo. Sorry, Bioware, drowning kittens didn't interest me.

Nice comic I guess but it seems a little harsh lol, it was only one retcon and this is just more ammuninition for the old school Rpg mega fanboys to use.
Trust me...it wasn't just the one.
The game basically ignores EVERYTHING you did in DA:O, which would be fine by me if they didn't put in a save import feature.
What's the point of doing THAT if you just ignore all the data?
Except for doing it because they arent ignoring all THAT data?

Makes me wonder why there's even choices in this series at all if anything can be retconned at will.

Still, made me lawl for a bit.
Indeed.

Guess they didn't want to steal Mass Effect's show with perpetual decisions via transferred saves.
Would make sense, if your Mass Effect choices influenced more than your emails/news.
Be fair, they do.

OT: Its funny because its so devastatingly true. If the game wasn't built for the connectivity of saves, just limit it to the reference points. There was no need to involve Leliana, and the whole thing about two people who have nothing to do with each other "disappearing" being more than a coincidence was ridiculous; MY WARDEN IS DEAD, HE DIDN'T DISAPPEAR!

See above. Considering that's obviously what they want to base the sequel on, its a fairly important thing to over look.

While it doesn't excuse it outright, Lelianna and Zevran appearing in a game with an imported save in which they died is a know bug. There are a ton of issues with the importer not working correctly and it's one of the things (I hope) they address with the upcoming patch. This isn't Bioware "taking your choices away", it's Bioware releasing an incredibly buggy game.

What kind of sick bastard kills Leliana anyway?

That's like kicking a French kitten.

Reminds me of Ray Bradbury, who was told that his seminal work Farenheit 451 was about Government control of people and not about Television destroying books.
Frankly i don't see the distinction very well... i guess it's whether or not the move was intentional by a bunch of evil masterminds or simply happened on it's own. Its still '"being engrossed in stupid, mind numbing things makes you stupid and easily swayed and turns you against smart things!"

Well, it's like Liu Kang in Mortal Kombat. Died, then came back. But Leliana should have been greenish, smelly and with chains.

Zevran appearing is a bug, Leliana isn't as far as I'm aware, as there's a post on the BioWare forums where David Gaider announces that they decide when someone is dead and when they reuse them (and it was in response to Leliana showing up).

Damnit man, i thought i told you to get rid of Erin's swollen lip!

Funny comic and all, but it feels like the series has become nothing more than a satire on games in general and the whole "Erin is a games journalist / reviewer" has gone right out the window. It'd be nice if the comic could make up its mind what it's trying to be...

Even as a professional qqer, I am quite sick of hearing about DA2.
The episode was amusing but can we all leave this horrible, horrible game alone already?

Leliana appears in a the prerendered cutscene in the end of the game, it's not a bug. Anders also appears regardless of his or Justice's state in Awakening. The Warden is always "missing", even if dead. Do they check the grave/tomb regularly, in case he rises as a zombie or something?

They must've spent their entire budget on the bazillion versions of Alistair cameo (which are, of course, just fluff).

Oh, and you think this is bad? Imagine what Mass Effect 3 is gonna be like.

And for those people that STILL don't know how ME2 (and Lair of the Shadowbroker) ends...
The only party member that is guaranteed to survive both games is Liara, and since she becomes the Shadow Broker I doubt she will be available to do missions. There are a total of 16 other party members, each of which can die. It's gonna be interesting to see if Bioware is willing to bring in that many voice actors for characters that may not even be in the game.
