That's Chandra Nalaar, right? Second-hottest red mage. The hottest, of course, is Jaya Ballard.

I'd tap that for any converted mana cost. However, I must say that the hottest red card of all, of course, is:

Oh, and to all the veterans complaining about creatures now being OP: Creatures have always absurdly, horrifyingly underpowered. New players like creatures more, even though they can be killed by a variety of effects. Other card types have been absurdly overpowered in the past. There are ridiculously OP cards of every type except creature. Creatures are easily balanced and easily kept in check by counterspells and destruction spells. Vintage is dominated by combo decks that never even think about playing a creature. So, Wizards decided to make creatures more powerful than they used to be, and it used to work really well.

Here comes a massive image flood. In my opinion, here's a list of game-breakingly good cards of every type:

I hope everyone who sees this long post realizes that creatures are not nearly as broken as other types of spells. Wizards has certainly made them more powerful, but they're still not nearly as game-breaking as the other card types. Even in the current format, the only card really warping the game is Jace, The Mind Sculptor, one of only 21 Planeswalkers ever made.

Also, note that out of every ridiculously good card I posted, only Jace, the Mind Sculptor practically costs more than 3 mana (Treachery is usually free, or even gives you more mana). Look at these scary fucking creatures:

Huge and menacing, no doubt. But they all cost enough mana that they won't break the format. A deck is simply expected to have some sort of answer to a creature by turn 4:

I hope this epic post has been enlightening.

TL;DR: Creatures have always been underpowered, and people are complaining now that they're being brought to the right level.

So the references were lost on me, but I'm digging the additional commentary you've been throwing in occasionally.

Darksteel Colossus is fine and all, but I prefer a little guy called "Progenitus".

http://gatherer.wizards.com/Handlers/Image.ashx?multiverseid=179496&type=card

Yea, you read that right. Protection. From. Everything. Darksteel Colossus can still be exiled with cards like "path to exile" or "swords to plowshares". Progenitus? can't be blocked or targeted by anything. Yea. Feels good. And ofcourse there are dirty ways to sneak him out early.
I've seen someone who had a deck that combined this with a card that destroys all enemy and ally cards. Since this card cannot be destroyed, you become the only player with any cafd left and therefore win the game.

Or something like that. It was hard as hell to pull off.
Funny thing? Protection From Everything only works if it's the specific target. Things like Wrath of God still get rid of it.
Hah! Then either it was a different card or I understood it completely wrong. Or maybe they didn't have Progenitus.

Leave me alone, it was like eight years ago! :(
Protection prevents certain things from that source (in this case all colors and artifacts and creature types etc...)

Damaging
Equipping and Enchanting
Blocking
Targeting

or known as DEBT

Wrath of God does none of the things so progenitus will die to it.

This is a basic of Protection and don't think it needs to go into anymore detail on this forum

We will not leave you ALONE!

I think that you'd still need a doctor. Something about having a burning sensation...

Darksteel Colossus? How about Blightsteel Colossus - it's just like Darksteel, but with INFECT. So, frankly, it's incredi-broken.

Oh, also -
turn 1, forest, birds of paradise
turn 2, lotus cobra, forest, 2x llanowar elf.
turn 3, darksteel relic, island, shape anew the relic to a blightsteel, distortion strike the blightsteel, goblin war paint the blightsteel, and swing for 14 poison counters, unblockable.

And look! It's in standard!

Yep and i respond by using Into the roil and sending it back to your hand

Well look at that your Blightsteel is in your hand and all that effort was wasted :)

My Spellcaster deck for Yu-Gi-Oh! has quite a few female casters. Makes my job easier. But sex with the Dark Magician? Twice? Relinquished? The things I do for my deck.
I can do that.
WHY!?! How!?!
Just be glad you don't play a dragon, warrior, or beast-warrior deck. Or a machine deck. That would hurt.

I used to love to play Yugi-Oh. Don't have any cards anymore, but I've been thinking about getting back into it. I used to love my Dark Paladin - Jinzo combo. People didn't tend to like it, but too bad for them. Also, loved my Gravekeeper beat-down deck and my Cyberdark Deck.

Actually, had some friends that were playing recently and one challenged me because he heard I used to be really good. When I finally accepted, he suggested I use this one really good deck that another friend has. I declined and used the deck of the guy that just lost two in a row. In two games the guy that challenged me only did 2000 damage total to me (if that). Damn, I'm evil.

Actually, my new deck would be quite enjoyable (all female). If you ever want to duel, just pm me. I know some online services.

uh...sorry for being a lameass, but tinker is banned outside of the cycle it came out. Cards' too damn powerful. By banned, I mean, restricted in vintage, banned in everything else... At least, that's to my recollection.

And vintage has far meaner things than a tinker/darksteel combo...just getting both in your initial is less than a 5% chance at most.

Of course, the idea is flashy but...the reality is, the combo is practically useless for doing a speedy attack. With an even luckier draw, you can have it out immediately, but then we're talking 1% of the time...

Well you don't actually need Darksteel in your initial because Tinker tutors it.

And for the record. Pretty much everything I post, comic or otherwise, about MTG is aimed at the Kitchen Table player. We like Darksteel because he's a big-ass robot. Not because he's all that viable.

Note: That's not a "we don't like your kind here." I'm just explaining why 90% of everything I type is bullshit.

..Oh wow! I remember back when I was into Yugioh about 6 years ago.

I had a Custom Deck filled with Relinquish and his other form along with the rest of my cards being nothing but Toons, Dragons, Machines and Fiends

.....just my freaking luck. Powerful deck, just not attractive.

This was the only card that was even remotely attractive in my deck

I'd at least tap dat.

But, Toon Blue Eyes?!, Barrel Dragon!? The Masked Beast!? JESUS CHRIST, it's turning into a sausage fest in my deck.

Oh well... *Pulls down pants*
