Dunce looked around. The people in the village making fools of themselves for absolutely no reason. Naara didn't like these things. He never did, even as a child he never went out of his way to meet new people. She had to introduce herself to him when they first met.

She looked around for a few minutes. Jumping over the crowds trying to see if she could see any further. She jumped on top of a wooden barrel and looked for him. She finally spotted him. She shook her head and smiled.

"Always trying to avoid big crowds aren't ya Naara."

She jumped off of the barrel and ran towards him. Unfortunately The Old Gaffer or 'Gramps' as Dunce called him got to Naara first. Naara's shriek could be heard through the crowd. And much to his dislike he was grabbed and the villagers paraded around him like a bunch of bafoons. She never like the fact that they only ever celebrated Toan, Naara's father at the towns festival. They seemingly ignored everyone else who had helped, especially her great grandfather Seda. He had helped Toan in his journeys but they always forgot about him. A point that Dunce always pointed out. She was proud of her great grandfather and was sure that everyone would remember their name.

She ran over to Naara and grabbed his arm. They spoke for a bit behind the tents that were all over the town because of the festival. Suddenly screams could be heard from every direction. Dunce and Naara peaked their head to see who it was, even though they already knew. Dunce was about to scream but Naara put his hand over her mouth. He told her his plan and she nodded in agreement. Side by side they ran to find the others. Dunce spoke with a smile on her face.

"Alright Naara, time to save the world!"

<spoiler=OOC>Hope its ok that I made Seda, Dunce's great grandfather. If not then I'll change it.

I looked at Dunce...she knew how lazy I could be. She was either antagonising me, or joking around, playing on the fact that my father had done the same. We went off in different directions, I knew that Rachel would be helpful, so I started to look for her. I got to her house and found that she'd left the door wide open. The rest of the village had become a collosal fire. I closed her door and ran towards the caves. That was the only other exit now that the town entrance was closed. The stone doors of the caves began to slide apart, and I saw a hooded figure go inside. Before the gates closed I managed to call out her name. She turned around and looked at me.

"Come on Rachel! We've gotta get the others!" I ran off, and Rachel soon followed. Where would Thiel be...

I ran back home and pulled out my father's sword from the cabinet. I sent Rachel to look for Thiel, whilst I headed for the Dark Genie.

"Ho ho ho, it's been quite a while since I was let out of that caldron...not as long as before though, I guess I should count myself lucky."

"Hey! Genie!" He turned to me in suprise.

"Oh, look what we have here, are you Toan's boy? What a coincidence, your father was a grand warrior, you're lucky to have such a bloodline.

"You know nothing about my father..." I clenched my fists tightly in anger.

"Haha, you remind me so much of him, you've got the same eyes...that's good, when I kill you, it'll be twice the satifaction seeing as you look so much like him!"

"I'm sick of hearing about my father!!![/n]"

I charged in anger, he was manipulating me...I swung at him and he flicked my forehead, sending me crashing into the Gaffer's shop.

"Ho ho ho...it's pathetic, your father would be ashamed..."

I opened my eyes, watching the Genie ascend. The two moons shone behind him.

"My father was a kid like me when he stopped you!" The Genie laughed heartily and fled. I was too weak to stand. The Gaffer's shop was completely wrecked.

I cursed a bit when Naara found her. I really didn't need any trouble on her back. that's why I had survived for this long on my own, I didn't get into trouble and when I did, I didn't leave survivors. I ran to Thiel's house and knocked a couple of times.

[em]Come one, we need you Thiel. Where the hell are you.[/em]

Erm, sorry to be a Grammar Nazi, but if you're writing in first person, you use "I" not, he/she/it, him/her. You're using both "I" and "Her". It's just I. =) That is, assuming that you're talking about yourself.

I rolled over to find the sun blazing in my eyes through the window and the cries coming from the middle of the town.

"Great, hero day. Yay" I said, mumbling as I grabbed the swords of fire and water. I strapped the swords to my back and put on my clothing. "Time to see the others".

It wasn't until I stepped outside that I realised the cries of exultation were cries of horror, with craters littering the streets and a scene of utter horror before me.
Almost as if in unison with the fire hitting the inn I had been staying in, Naara came crashing through the shop next door.
I ran towards him, fearing for his life.
"Are you ok? what the hell's going on?!"

I couldn't wait any longer for Theil and so I rushed back to Naaran who was with Damas.

"what the hell happened? one second, it's a really nice night and you're having the 'time of your life' at the festival and the next, everythings burning and I'm being woken up. someone's got to explain something."

Dunce ran around trying to find the others.

"Dammit! Where is everyone else!! Screw this!"

Dunce turned around and ran towards the genie. She saw Naara go flying through the shop and the genie leaving the site. She was angered. Her great grandfather was the reason of the genie existing to begin with. She shook her head and ran back to where Naara was and noticed Theil there. Naara was lying on the floor and unable to move. He slowly got up and began moving around.

"Oww...Hey Damas. It's happening again." I pointed out of the window and we both saw the Genie disappear.

"Go and find the others, I'm not sure who survived, but I know for a fact that myself, Dunce and Rachel are around. I'll be with you in a few minutes." I looked at Damas, and he nodded. I jumped out of the window and went to search for the others. As soon as he left, everything went black. I was in a dark void, there was nothing, the ruined village had gone. Then a glowing yellow light spiralled around me.

"What the-" My speech was cut off by a calming voice.

"I am the Fairy King. It seems it's happened again."

"Fairy...King?"

"Yes, I helped your father when this first occured."

"Why won't anyone shut up about my dad!"

"Because he is was a great man, you may dis-like him for bringing all of this fame upon you, but you share his blood."

"Oh, so now it's my responsibility?!"

"Yes, that is the case. Your father was just as shocked as you, he was about the same age you know. This world has been destroyed, everyone you know, love...it's gone."

"No...what about Dunce...the others?"

"Somehow, they survived...they're still looking for the rest of the gang. That sword of yours, do you see the stone? That stone has remarkable power, a power that has been made dormant until now. I will reactivate this power, and you will recreate everything that is lost. Only you may touch the Atlamallia, that stone has the power.

"No...no way! I'm not ready for this, I barely know how to use a sword, never mind resurrecting a dead land!"

"No, you're not ready, but neither was your father..."

"I'M NOT MY FATHER!" As soon as I said this, the Fairy King's voice had gone. The void disappeared, and I was still lying down amongst the broken shop. I looked at the stone in my sword and puzzled over it. Did it really have that much power? I didn't want to think about it too much. I looked around again, the rest of the gang were with me. They looked really worried, I must have been speaking aloud.

"Come on, we've gotta go to the caves, it's the only way out of the village, maybe we can find survivors in another village." I knew that it wasn't possible, my father had told me the tales of the Dark Genie...but the only one who shared this knowledge with me was Dunce. The others were clueless...

"what? I'm not going anywhere until i get answers."

I drew my bow and pointed it at Naaran.

"don't mistake me, you're all my friends but i need answers. I don't like the way things are turning out. now slow down and talk."

Dunce turned only to have a bow pointing at her face by Rachel. She pushed it away. Putting on a brave face that she couldn't back up.

"The genie is back. The genie that destroyed everything 50 years ago, the one Naara's father destroyed. He's back and now we have to help Naara defeat him."

Dunce knew there was more to the story. Parts she wasn't telling. Parts she didn't want anyone to find out.

"It's all very complicated Rachel...50 years ago that thing was released by a group of ritualists. My father stopped that group and with the helped of Dunce's grandfather, sealed the Genie. Now it seems that it has all happened again...I have no idea how...or why."

I looked at Rachel and she lowered her bow a little, though she was still ready to fire.

"I blacked out just a second ago, and was spoken to by someone called the Fairy King. I know it sounds ridiculous, but when my father told me this story he said the exact same thing. The fairy king was guiding him. Look around...everything is gone, we're the only ones who are alive. There could be other's in different villages, but the only way out of this town now is going through the caves."

I nodded, trying to convince her not to shoot me. I stood up and pushed the broken wood off of me.

"Please...hurry, we need to go." I looked at Dunce, I was worried...I wasn't cut out for this, neither of us were.

I raised my bow and put the arrow back into my quiver and slung my bow over my other shoulder.

"I'll follow.....for now. This is ridiculous but you lot are young and are going to need all the help you can get to stay alive. let's go."

Dunce shook her head and a grin crossed her face.

"Well alright! Lets go save the world everyone. Thanks Rachel for coming along."

Dunce put her hand on Naara's shoulder.

"Lead the way my friend."

I smiled at Dunce's actions. She was my best friend, she always had been, despite our arguements. I took a final look at the wrecked village, and remembered something.

"Stay here a moment!" I ran off to the Mayor's house, if he was still alive, there may be some hope. I opened the door and saw food littered across the floor.

"Hello?" There was no reply, but I cut hear some fumbling from the attic.

"Sir?" I waited for a response

"Ooh Naara, Hello! It's disastrous isn't it...you've got to do this, for all of us. Take whatever food you need."

I took all of the food I could carry and slipped it into my pouch. I rejoined the others and we headed for the caves.

"Here we go..." The doors opened, and we stepped inside.

Convinced by Naara, and seeing the appearance of several people who I'd never met before. I felt compelled to follow them, so I followed the band of people who I'd barely known for 10 minutes.

"right. I need food, whetstones, a blanket, and the love of a fine woman"

I sternly looked at Damas.

"You really find it appropriate to make jokes after everyone in the village was just slaughtered?!" His careless comment angered me, but I calmed myself down and apologised.

"Here...food. As for the other things, I don't have them." I threw Damas some bread, and then shared a little with Dunce.

"Apparently there are monsters here...you think the rumors are true?" I looked at the gang with confidence, I didn't want anyone to crash out...

Dunce shared some bread with Naara. He told everyone there might be some monsters. She shrugged her shoulders. She spoke after swallowing her food.

"My great grandma Sophia used to tell me stories of monsters. She said they were true. Though I never really believed her. But if they are true I imagine that we'd be able to stop them. Our group is unstoppable after all...at least I think we are."
