"Yes, it is as Dunce says. Just like Matataki has the Forest Guardian, we here have Dran, guardian of Norune." I looked ahead, noticing a few of the pig creature dashing towards us.
"Oh dear..." I pulled out my sword and readied myself, I couldn't take on 5 at once.
"Ok. i don't really believe in all that guardian shit because if they did exist, what the hell has mine been doing for the last eighteen years?"
I said this at the same time as releasing an arrow at the pig-like creatures. the arrow struck it right in the neck and it fell to the floor, bleeding to death.
Dunce pulled out her sword and took the stance that she was taught from her father. The same as her grandfather and her great grandfather. A boar creature came rushing at her and she took a step and struck it hard on the head. It fell on the floor and no longer moved, he was dead.
"Why am I always the last one to get to kill stuff?!?!" I yelled as a humanoid boar creature grabbed my right arm. I plunged the katana in my left hand deep into the creature's neck and it fell to the floor, spasming.
"Soooo..." I said, wiping the blood off my blade. "Mr. Guardian was it? Where exactly were you when, you know, the village was on fire?"
I ran at one of the creatures, it swung at me first allowing me to dodge and counter, I stuck my blade straight into it's heart then ripped it out, It's blood spilled onto the floor.
They always seem to attack first without question, that makes it a hell of a lot easier.
"Hey guys both times I've ran at one of these things it attacks too soon, keep that in mind"
I looked at the two remaining monsters, I stuck my sword through one, and kicked the other over, it ran off in horror as it knew that it had been defeated. The cave was quiet, then I heard some more banging.
Dran seems rather restless... I thought. The floor began to crack, I couldn't tell what was going on, but it soon came to my attention that we were going to fall. We crashed through the stone floor, landing in Dran's cave. The crystals hovered above us ominously, as if they were going to fall. I stared at an indentation at the top of the huge room. Thumping noises came from inside. Then, he stepped out of the cave.
"Dran! I never thought I'd see you! Could you help us out of here?"
ROAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR!!!
Tongues of fire spewed from his mouth...he wasn't being himself.

As the last boar monster ran off Dran suddenly appeared. Naara asked him for help but it seemed as if Dran were angry. Dunce already knew what was wrong. She quickly turned to Naara.
"Don't you remember what happened 50 years ago with your father. The genie took control of Dran. He's probably doing the same thing again."
Dunce grabbed her sword tightly. They had to fight Dran.
"fight it? you're shitting me. That thing could eat you in one gulp. well, i guess this is what you sign up for when you go saving the world."
I noched 3 arrows into my bow and fired them off. due to the closeness and the size of the Dran, all the arrows hit. Not that they did much. one of the arrows embedded into it's leg and two into it's shoulder. Dran looked unimpressed.
I stared up at Dran, he wasn't himself, Dunce was right...it looked like Dark Magic.
"Everyone...be on your guard, this floor is extremely unstable."
This was proven right when Dran's fireball smashed the ground, leaving what seemed to be a never-ending hole in the floor.
I threw a stone at his head and it brought him down to Ground Level, I slashed him a few times, and he rose again into the sky.
"Dammit!"
I'm going out with friends now, will be back around 8pm British Time. Fight Dran, you can defeat him in a few posts, don't kill him, and if you defeat him before I get back, make him unconcious. I'm going to leave ae86gamer in charge as moderator of the RP, step out of line, and feel her wrath.
I ran over to it and concentrated the wind magic in my daggers and with a short but strong burst I shot at Dran's body hurting it and making it stumble a bit.
"We should try not to kill it, anyone know how to knock it out of it's trance?"
what the hell is going on? there's a giant fluffy bunny rabbit of doom breathing fire and trying to eat us!
"So we can't kill it? we can only stun it?" Damas said, avoiding the cascade of fireballs aimed at his feet.
"right, that's enough!" he yelled as he took out his swords and charged up his lightning capability- the lightning crackled on the edge of the blades. "Let's see how fluffy likes lightning!"
He threw one of the blades, skimming Dran's wing, but causing no major damage, however, the lightning stunned one of the wings and Dran's flying started becoming erratic.
However, this had the adverse effect of enraging Dran, causing him to encourage his relentless torrent of fire.
Damas decided to chirp in.
"when in doubt, use lightning!"
He rushed up to Dran and placed his palm on the neck of the child, sending lightning arcing through the body of the guardian.
I stood up after being struck by Dran, it appeared that he wasn't going to give up easily. I grabbed my sword and ran to Damas.
"Enchant my sword, now!" Damas quickly fumbled with his magic. My sword now had a lightning edge. I threw another stone and Dran came back down from the ceiling. I charged towards him and placed my sword on his chest. The flat part of the blade touched his feathers, I was extremely delicate, I didn't want to hurt our guardian. I released the enchantment through his body and electricity pulsed through Dran. It collapsed, and seemed to be less agressive than before.
"Dran?"
He lay on his belly, he came around and looked at me like he had a giant head-ache.
I'll set the rest of the RP up for you before I go to school, so you can carry on with it.
"Dran! Are you ok?" I said. "Hmm...I'm alright I suppose, why?
"Because...you just tried to kill all of us." "I...did? I'm sorry, I don't know what got into me..."
"Ehm...Dran, the Genie is back." "What?! Oh no, I'm so sorry, it's happened again. Here, take this as an apology."
Dran coughed out a large pearl that seemed to be enchanted.
"Thank you!" I said...I didn't know what it was for, but I didn't want to seem ungrateful. "If you'd like, I'll also take you back to the village? Then to matataki?"
"That would be great Dran, thank you!" "Not a problem my child, sorry for trying to eat you, that Dark Magic is a pesky thing."
We all hopped onto Dran's back and flew back to the village. The view was spectacular.
"Dran, I'm apparently supposed to rebuild the village but...I don't know how." "Hohoho, you have an atlamallia stone in your sword don't you?"
"I do-" "Then stick it in the ground!"
With that, Dran returned to his home, he was very grateful, and said we only needed to call on him if we needed to go to Mataki. I stuck the sword in the ground and waited. The earth shook and rumbled, then houses and trees started sprouting from the ground. People started to re-appear, completely oblivious to the past events. The energy in my sword was now gone.
"WE DID IT!" I jumped around in excitement, it was the first time i'd ever done anything good...
"Ok, we need to hit Mataki soon, if you need to see your parents, you'd better see them now. Stock up on food and water too, we'll need it." I walked off, I needed to go see the mayor.
Ryaki looked around the newly reborn Norune Village and then looked up in the sky. It was quite an experience, getting in that first dungeon.
Well, I guess its true, hearing about events are one thing, but you really got to see it to believe it. I mean, that was Dran, the legendary guardian, and there was the prodigal son of the hero, fighting it off, just like what had happened long ago. I guess Amy was pretty bang on. And I guess I gotta work on my aim on moving targets with this bloody ring. I don't think I hit Dran once.
Ryaki headed into one of the newly grown thickets and rubbed the center gemstone three times and in a poof, Amy appeared. Somewhat stereotypical in appearance when one thinks of female genies; the Arabic-inspired attire, the long blonde hair, although streaks of silver appeared intermittently.
"About time you called me out, I mean, jeez, I can't stay in there all the time you know!" Amy complained.
"Well, I didn't know if those other people were ready for your grand entrance," Ryaki shot back, "Plus, you know they would be asking you for wishes and stuff. Anyway, I just wanted to tell you were right. About everything, Dran, the hero, everything."
"Duh!" Amy said. "Why would I make that sort of thing up, especially with the stuff going on now?"
"It was a little hard to believe, you have to admit that. But anyway, now that I know its true, I want to know everything about what your mother saw 50 years ago. It could make things a lot easier if we're going to take out that bugger."
"Well, Ruby wasn't all that clear, and you know, I never really believed her either, I figured she was just making up stories at bedtime. I only told you because I figured you would be gullible enough to believe me, come tromping out here to the middle of nowhere, and I'd be able to say I got you good. Now, though, I dunno, I know she told me that Fatty's village has a giant monkey guarding it, and if the same stuff is going on, he's probably insane by now," Amy explained. "And if that is the case, you need to work on your shooting. I mean that was horrible! You didn't hit him once!"
"I know, I know," Ryaki sighed. "Anyways, the others are probably wondering where I am, so come on back in you go, you can reveal yourself when the time is right."
"Augh, fine, but you better not keep me in there another week like last time!" Amy threatened, as she disappeared back into the ring.
Ryaki just shook his head. "Thought you could get one on me......It'll never happen, you know that?" he said. A pause for a couple seconds was replied with, "That didn't count, cause you were right. So there, end of it," as he headed back towards the others.
Dunce hadn't really done anything to help defeat the monster. Only striking it a few times wasn't enough. If she was going the help Naara then she had to do more. She needed to become stronger.
After Naara restored the village Dunce went running home. Seeing her mother and father she ran even faster. Jumping into the arms of her father, hugging him tightly and then doing the same with her mother.
"I'm so happy you guys are ok."
"Well Dunce why wouldn't we be?"
Dunce shook her head. She excused herself from her parents and walked into her room. She looked at a picture of her mother and father. Her father looking exactly like great grandpa Seda. Dunce looked exactly like her mother. Dunce took the picture and put it in a small bag that she had. Dunce looked under her bed for a small box. When she finally found it she opened it only to reveal a gold clip that has a red ruby in the middle. It belonged to Seda. Dunce clipped the ruby onto her chest.
Just like how great grandpa Seda wore it. Alright... Time for them to remember our name and how great you were.
Dunce filled the remainder of her bag with food and clothes. Telling her parents she would be exploring with Naara and that they would be back in a few days. The agreed to let her go. Not knowing what she was actually going to go and do. And with her sword in hand she walked towards the mayors office.
