I responded to your original post about having to unlock the "goofing around mode". Now, you're adding a new complaint, or rather added a detail that changes things. It sounds like you're really annoyed just because you don't like some of the text you have to read. (i.e. "sorry, the truth has eluded you," and "start new game".) Other than that, the game lets you do what you want to do. You know you can goof around, & that goofing around makes Frank stronger, which is helpful when you start a new game go after the story, but you're still not happy.scarab7 said:Wish not granted. Some Deadlines were mandatory, as in if you missed it you'd lose the game. The game wasn't as free roaming as I had hoped for. DR made you follow the main deadlines forcing you to keep the continuity of the story. Have you seen all the endings? They kind of force you into most of them. I'd rather have more freedom to explore the mall and figure out how to navigate it from one whole experience. Not level up through "quests" (Which is faster then killing zombies), save and restart, so I can be strong enough to go through areas they first present you with. If you weigh the options, bashing zombies in the game on your free time was considered a waste of time compared to all the other things the game intended players to do. I just want to smash zombie with the silly loot with out saying "You lost the story, sucks to be you".
You have to save Brad, track down the bad guy, etc. Brad won't be in that gun fight for 3 days until you get around to helping him, nor will the bad guy stay in town waiting for you to find him. At least the time constraints make sense. It would make far less sense without them.
At any rate, I just hope you enjoyed the game despite its flaws.
