A murky fog began to curl around the city, a familiar mugginess. It was probably Dreth. The colossus shrugged, her long hair shimmering. Who was she to deny the importance of decomposition? She even encouraged it to a point: moisture accelerated decay. Still, it was a bit uncomfortable as she slid into the muck. Still, she waded through it quicker than if she had instead hovered over the mess.

"I will be back Jotun, I would like to speak to Dreth."

Adtonitus walked between the skyscrapers, looking in awe at what the humans had managed. He walked into a hardware shop and saw a simple circuit- just two wires and a lightbulb. Adtonitus placed his hand in-between the two wires and smiled sorrowfully when the light lit up. He could imagine people walking through those doors, the bel, now rusted, giving a little 'ding' everytime someone entered. "Only 10,000 years of Homo Sapiens, and they manage to hold the world under their heel." How Adtonitus missed the subtle genius and diversity of humanity! He removed his hand and walked out, closing the door behind him to meet the other Colossi. He caught up with Amphitrite with deceptively long strides. "Mind if I join you, sister? It has been a while since I have seen Dreth- I doubt he even remembers me!" This last part was said with a chuckle.

Amphitrite squeaked as she saw her brother.

"Adtonitus!~ I'm glad to see you are well..."

She smiled warmly as he kept pace with her.

"It's so sad... so empty without anything living here, brother..."

The ruins were quiet, with only the occasional rush of wind blowing through hollow halls. There were very few human remains, it had been too long. The pair spotted the occasional mutated being, watching them with red eyes before scurrying into the shadows.

Dreth began stalking through the ruins that were now all the more decomposed thanks to his recent actions. The city had been relatively preserved by the desert climate, but now it was well on its way to becoming like the many others scattered around the globe. It was while he was walking amongst his new domain that he stumbled upon the two other colossi wandering the ruins.

Dreth towered over the two, though he was still small in comparison to the Earthfather or Legion. It was nice though to feel these proportions again though,. He looked down upon the pair of colossi with only interest, not attempting to appear threatening at all.

"Aannd whhooo hhaavvve wwee hheerre? Aadtoonniituusss, coolloosssssuusss ooff lliighhtnniinng aannd thhuunndeerr aannd thhe coolloosssssuusss ooff wwaateerr, Aammpphhiirriite, iifff Ie aamm coorrrreect. Ie aassssuumme yyoou hhaavve coomme duue too mmyy rreecceennt aacctioonnsss?"

"Hello!~"

Amphitrite looked up at the colossus, wondering how well he could even see them. She squinted, trying to make out the speaking end of the decaying pile.

"Your recent actions? This? *looks around at the sludge* Um, I don't personally think it's very nice, but decay is important and necessary to recycle things. Everything needs to return to its original form."

Her voice trailed off a little as she observed the sludge eating away at the various buildings and ruins. It was fascinating to watch: she could feel the molecules releasing themselves, she could feel them transforming into new pieces of life. She smiled and nodded. No, decay wasn't something she minded at all, save the smell and its rather dark appearance.

V padded quietly through the city, keeping as low of a profile as he could. He had been surprised by the relative silence of his surroundings. Dreth's decomposing actions had made him certain of a quick retaliation.

Maybe I was wrong...perhaps the others aren't as quick to fight amongst themselves as I expected.

The fox darted into a nearby structure. Although he didn't actually need to rest, the creature enjoyed lounging at times. He also believed that he was far enough away from the others that hiding would make him completely undetectable.

Velox curled up tight. He would rest for now and reflect.

The city grew quiet, the wind stopping completely, the sand that had been floating in the breeze began to drift to the ground like dry snow. The spirits wandered, who would be the commanding force of the new world, would the new world be a world of water, each tiny change in the earths water and all the elements are tossed apart. Or would the world rot, burn, freeze or just lay in darkness. They did not know, even the wretches wandering through the streets sensed something, their blind eyes staring up into the sky.

The calm before the storm it seemed, the world preparing to tear itself apart to breath new life.

A small band of wretches stopped in the middle of a road, listening, they heard a loud roar and scattered, a huge brutish twisted giant ran towards them, bulging with mutated blackened muscle, it stood a good 100ft off the ground, it's head sunk into its neck. It was a remnant, a long preserved beast from the dying times of the human wars, an experiment. It charged towards a small group of colossi it saw, not knowing what he faced, it leap at them clawed hands sweeping towards adontonius' face.

Amphitrite sensed something quickly approaching. She turned to see a large creature charging right towards them. She panicked and felt for any water reserves in the city. Not, finding much, she decided to use her last resort. The colossus quickly raised her hands in the air, condensing every drop of water in it for a 2 mile radius into a sheet of dark water. As soon as the thing jumped, she slammed it with the barrier. Sure it was water, but at the speed the monster was going, it may as well have been concrete. It effectively stopped the thing from ripping into Adtonitus, but it was nothing more than a minor setback for the mass, which stood up and shook itself before charging again.

Dreth was considering how to respond to Amphitrite when heard a loud roar. Turing he saw a huge creature sprinting directly at them. It was at least several stories larger than Dreth, but he was not worried. It seemed focused on Adtonitus which meant that it did not notice when the water being hit him with a sheet of water, slowing it somewhat.

It was then that Dreth decided to strike. Dreth raised a gnarled hand at the wretch and shot a jet of his sludge at it, which began to eat away at it's muscled flesh immediately. He made sure to aim at it's head to help rob it of it's senses, though he did not know if it would have any effect. Although he wished to release more fumes into the area to continue to destroy the creature, he new that it would hurt the other colossi. While he had little feelings towards them, it might be seen as an act of aggression, which would sure gain him the ire of the others. He did not wish to repeat Executor's mistake.

Adtonitus nodded as his siblings rushed to his aid. "Thank you, both of you, but I think I'll be fine." He chuckled. Adtonitus slowly drew his sword, the blade flickering as it took on shape. Adtonitus aimed the point at the creature and smiled. The lightning roared, stretching and growing until it impaled the monster right below the heart. Adtonitus shook his head sadly as he merged with the lightning, traveling as fast as light towards the beast. Faster than thought, Adtonitus slashed within the beast from the lightning, shredding the mockeries of organs from within. A return trip went through the creatures neck. Adtonitus resumed his mortal form, brushing himself off. "May it die quickly." Adtonitus said sadly. "I could feel it's thoughts. That creature is sad and in pain. It never should have been created, and it has gone mad in it's pain."

Amphitrite nodded at her brother's statement. She glided up to the monster's dying form and placed her hand on its forehead.

"I, Amphitrite, release you from this form. May your spirit find rest in the next plane."

The monster shuddered for a second, then heaved its last breath. She stood up slowly, her form shimmering in the light.

"I wonder... I wonder if there are more creatures like that one... it's so sad to see them in pain like this."

Amphitrite stood there, wondering whether to talk to the other 2 colossi or to go look for more of the strange creatures. She suddenly missed the wide oceans, where there was no suffering or death like this. She had to go back anyway: her consciousness was not made to stay in a tiny vessel.

"Time to move."

He didn't know where he was going to go yet. He didn't know what he needed to do. But he knew that he needed to go.

So much to be done, so little time. No time to rest anymore.

The colossus had taken note of the ways of the humans during their time on Earth. He had always been impressed by their unending drive to accomplish. Perhaps they had been unrefined in their control over his patron element but that didn't stop them from changing the world around them drastically.

Velox Vulpes was an advocate of change. Although some may view the power of fire as a destructive entity, V had always seen it as a powerful tool for altering the world around him. His art was fluid, always in motion, never staying still. The bright glow of embers dancing in the wind while wood changed to ash. The searing heat of a blaze burning coal. The hiss of water boiling. The power of steam turning the gears of progress.

V had always liked the humans. And they had always like his element.

Change was on the horizon. He had seen it all around him. But he had no intention of letting it happen without him.

The beast slunk silently, watching all around. He needed to stay away from the Earthfather, away from the bird. He would need more clout before seeking an audience with them. Perhaps more clout would come through...

"Amphitrite! Dreth! Adtonitus!"
the fox called strongly but quietly. He had seen the three congregated here.

It appears as though I've gone in a large circle.

He shrugged, only slightly perturbed by his sense of direction betraying him. He knew that a conversation was in order.

"Oh... hello V..."

The fire fox's appearance reminded Amphitrite of the Executor. He had disappeared shortly after V had attacked. Maybe he knew where the colossus went? It was probably dangerous to have the evil colossus recovering his strength. If they were going to strike, now was as good a time as any.

"V, if I recall correctly, you were one of the last colossi to attack the Executor. Did you perhaps notice where he went? It's dangerous to leave the hostile one unchecked..."

The fox sighed, trying to keep his annoyance about the matter from tinging his voice.

"Agreed. For one of such arrogance, he turned tail very quickly. It was difficult to tell exactly where he was headed, but it seemed as though he was flying west of here. The only thing that way is sand and ocean."

His gaze seemed distant as the cogs in his brain turned.

"Amphitrite...are you able to feel the ocean? That might help narrow down our search."

Tempest snorted when he saw his siblings scatter once the being of Death escaped. Earthfather, if you will excuse me, I must go strike while the iron is hot and kill the foul beast that plagues this world. He projected before shrinking down to his most minimal of size and soared to the ocean. With his small mass he was able to increase his speed to his terminal velocity quicker. He used his powers to cut the air in front of him, giving him almost no resistance as he cut through the air. His eyes scanned the depths of the ocean, and his senses were alert for any fell energy in his sister's domain.

Amphitrite closed her eyes and listened for a little. Her brow creased as she but her lip.

"I... no, I can't. That's very unusual... it might be because I don't have a presence in the ocean at the moment. I say we head West and see if we can't find that ocean."

It was very strange to her that the colossus would hide in the ocean. Maybe it was because he hadn't met her yet? Did he think maybe she would be an ally? This might work to her advantage if it came to blows...

"I only know the way back to the Southern ocean, that's where I came out to here. Do you think it's terribly far? I don't want to have to go across the whole desert without any water..."

Dreth turned towards the body of the creature. It was a large muscled beast, black and now quite scared due to it's recent scuffle. Similar to Dreth in an odd way. But now that body was lifeless, and like all things, but end. Dreth began to spray more sludge on the body to help break it down.

It was during this that Dreth heard a familiar call:
"Amphitrite! Dreth! Adtonitus!"

It seems that the fire fox was looking to speak with the three colossi that were standing in the ruins of the street. Dreth turned towards V as Amphitrite began talking with the other colossi, the being of Decay listened silently as the two conversed between themselves.

V tilted his head slightly.

"There is a fairly good chunk of ground to cover. Ten kilometers maybe. This city was always pretty close to the coast."

The familiar warm smile spread across the fox's face.

"If we move quickly we should be there in no time. Dreth, Adtonitus, do you wish to accompany us?"

Executor decided that enough time had passed. With a wail from under his skin, Executor flew out of the ocean and screamed its way back to the others. When it reached them, Executor stopped just outside of their circle, watching. Executor would wait to see which one seemed the most vulnerable, and then it would strike.
