I think the overall difference between the two is that Pansexuals like all genders where as biesexuals like two genders and while they can like more they don't necessarily like more. Basically all pansexuals are biesexuals but not all biesexuals are pansexuals.CrystalShadow said:Well, let me put it this way, I largely refer to myself as bisexual, yet if you want to get into the way the distinction is being made, I am apparently pansexual.erttheking said:Well some people don't really fall into the traditional binary genders, there's intersex people and gender neutral people. I think transexuals fall under the umbrella of pansexual too.CrystalShadow said:Yeah... I don't get it either. I mean I am bisexual, oe pansexual or whatever the hell they want to call it, and I still can't follow the distinction being made, ever after having it explained repeatedly... >_>Genocidicles said:So bisexual then. Wait I forgot, you have to pander to tumblr and saying bisexual isn't radical enough these days.
because apparently we needed a distinction between liking men and women, and liking anything human... >_<
As for you not getting it, well, we live in a time where sexual minorities are only recently being allowed to fully express themselves. The terminology around them is still developing.
My question (based admittedly only on my own perspective) Is if pansexual means what I think of as bisexual, then bisexual seems an especially strange concept.
Makes me wonder if bisexuals even exist. (as per the apparent point being made between bi- and pansexual being distinct and seperate concepts, which... To me, intuitively, they are not.)
I think My confusion stems from just not being wrap my head around having two words that to me personally mean the exact same thing, while constantly running into people that insist they are distinct from one another.
It feels like someone trying to explain the difference between the colours violet, and purple, yet even more ambiguous.
Like I said, the terminology is still evolving.
