Seriously though, the reason he's taller is so everyone in the raid can see him clearly when they're ramming their assorted weaponry and spells down his throat, nothing else to it. 'Lorewise' he's the same size he's always been.

I'm actually really upset to hear this news, mostly because of how anti-climactic it seems. They spent the entire third series of the game pumping up how awesome the Lich King was, going on and on about it in the MMORPG taking about how the Lich King would utterly destroy characters at level 60 and 70, and even the early boss fights with the Lich King aren't really boss fights so much as fleeing in terror while throwing an occasional rock at him, and this is in the same expansion!
Hearing that a group of just 10 people killed what was basically the most powerful being (revealed) in Azeroth just seems, well, boring and anti-climactic. I figured they'd make it at least a 25 man raid, or maybe a 40 man raid like the early mega bosses were, like Onyxia. As it stands though, it seems the Lich King just died a quite inglorious death.
