Lifting himself slowly off out of the pod, Nathan opened his sore eyes slowly only to find his vision blurred and his senses going haywire. Taking a few deep breaths, he slowly remembered getting into the pod and being told the list of potential side affects by some smart mouth technician. To bad the fucker didn't mention getting your senses beaten with an invisible hammer was one of them.

Swining his legs over the edge, it quickly became apparent to him that he was naked and he quickly started looking around for any sign of clothing. There were some shevles to the right of his pod, the name "Nathan Andrews" printed on a plaque on the shelf. Breathing a heavy sigh of relief, he quickly dressed himself before making his way out, stumbling a bit as feeling returned to his legs.

Making his way down to the kitchen, he almost ran into a few of his crew mates, now that he had mostly returned to normal he could see they were mostly talking shop. There was even an android amongst them

"Good morning"

He said with a weak smile. Chances were he may have to fire a one of these guys in the future so good impressions were important

Stephen was munching on the paste not so happily. To no one in particular, Stephen mumbled "Can't wait to get to the station and get some real food."

He just noticed that he was the only one here, with the doctor walking towards the table. An eye surgeon if he remember correctly.

What is he doing here? For what purpose would we need someone that specialized in one medical field?

"Morning" George sounded off to the android and the new-comer clled nathan as he motioned them to follow into the cafeteria

"Lets get some Space Paste"

Marcus watched some of the crew members walk to the cafeteria, obviously in search of food.
After greeting the man named Nathan, he followed George to the cafe, asking Allister if he wanted to come.
"Don't know about you, but I'm bloody starving." He said, and found his way to the eating area.
Smiling, he rubbed his stomach dramtically to himself, hoping for some great mid-flight meal to wake him up. Instead he found tubes. Lots, and lots, of space food tubes.
Sighing heavily, he picked the one flavour he liked best. "Spiced cheese with tomato", it read, as he picked it up and went to sit down next to George and the others. Opening the tube, Marcus was greeted by the friendly sight of yellow and red sauces in the tube. Eagerly he squeezed some into his mouth, swallowing quickly, then wishing he hadn't. The paste tasted stale and heavily of plastic. He coughed, searching for a drink of water.
"Damnit, when are the Spaceship owners going to invest in some good meals..." He exclaimed.

"I am sorry if the Nutrition Paste is not to your satisfaction, Mr. Warren." Vergil said in a cheerful voice.
"It is developed to provide ideal nutrition and vitamins necessary after cryo-sleep, they take up minimum space, and lasts virtually forever in a sealed state. Ideal food on a space trip, don't you agree?"

"Ideal if don't mind it tasting like cardboard." Silas muttered, directed towards no-one in particular. He never liked the taste of Nutrition Paste, if was so bitter and dry, like a lemon without any flavor or liquid content. It also looked as bad as it tasted; gelatinous, gray, and perforated with tiny holes, adding a texture that was unconformable to swallow down. To put it simply, it was nothing short of disgusting.

"At least tell me they have chips or some junk food up here. Y'know, the shit I placed an order for." He growled, this time directed towards the AI.

Samuel nabbed a tube and squeezed it directly into his mouth. It tasted like horse feces, as was par for the course with space food (four hundred years since man had ventured into space, and yet still he hadn't managed to advance anything past spaghetti-flavoured toothpaste, he mused), but so long as it sustained him, Samuel was content.
"Thanks for the meal," he mumbled to the VI he had grown to detest during the short period in which they had interacted. Manners cost nothing, his old mum had told him, and though Samuel was a reclusive man, he was nothing if not polite.

Was happy the VI apologised, something he had never heard it do before.
"Well... thanks then, I guess." Marcus said, contiuing to squeeze the food out of the tube.

Aliister responded to Marcus' question, "Yes actually, i'm quite hungry." Allister went with Marcus to the Cafe with the intent to eat some Steaks, unfortunately he only found Space Tubes with Steak Flavor. Damn It. The Moment i found out who prepared our eating arrangement, I'm gonna turn him into a pathetic shadow of a man. He will Crawl on the floor, begging my Forgiveness! I'm going to crawl inside his head, i'm gonna find out his deepest, darkest secrets, and i'll expose them to the light, kicking and screaming. How Dare he not give me my Stakes!

While Allister was quite obviously extremely pissed, he kept an outward appearance of Calm. He picked out the one labeled "Steak-Flavor and sat down to eat beside Marcus. He suddenly heard the VI explanation for the food. So YOU'RE the one who took away my Steaks! Logical though it may be, You'll still pay for that. Appearing Calm, once again, he said to the VI, "How is our course plotted my Friend? Are we any where closer to our Destination?" While saying this, he was also engaged in Mortal Combat against the Space Tube, which refused to release it's contents of Steak-Flavored Sludge.

Taking a seat next to the others, Nathan glanced down at the tube with a look of pure apprehension on his face. Taking a deep breath, he took it and squeezed the contents into his mouth. The taste was horrid but he choked it down.

Not wanting anymore tubed food, Nathan instead focused on the various crew around him

"So...any of you done this before?"

Allister heard another of his "Crewmates" ask a question. He mentally reviewed his notes of Him, Nathan Andrews, Optimistic, Untrustworthy, Intelligent, Compulsive Liar, Slight Split-Personality Issues, Accountant Manager, sees Numbers instead of People.

"Nope" Allister said while eating the barely edible Space Tube. "My first time in fact. How about you.....I'm sorry, i don't know you're name....Mr.Andrews right?....Is this you're first time?

Nathan smiled weakly, running his hand through his hair

"Yeah...pretty easy to tell isn't it?"

Looking down at the crumpled tube of food paste, he picked it up and tossed it into one of the waste units

"I'm more used to sitting behind a desk myself. Space travel like this was never what I had in mind when I signed on. I'm sure it'll get better soon, especially in terms of the food"

He explained with a slight chuckle

Allister smiled as well "True, i was stationed on My Home planet, well, Colony anyway. Ares, so it's not as bad for me."
He looked to the poor excuse for food on his table, "Don't count on the food though, i doubt it gets any better from here."

Samuel considered speaking up and mentioning that he, too, was in space for the first time, but then decided against it. The other man probably wasn't all that interested now that he'd found a friend (a slimy psychologist friend, but there again, in Samuel's experience, most friends were in some way or another), and besides, how would Samuel benefit from sharing this tidbit with the rest of the gang. The only interaction he planned to have with the rest of these people would be operating on their eyes, were it necessary.

"My first time too." Marcus said, joining the conversation.
Desperately he tried to remember the name of the man Allister had called Mr Andrews.
"Nathan, wasn't it?" He asked, holding out a hand to shake Mr Andrews'.
"Great to meet you."
Marcus tossed the now empty tube into the waste bin.
"So, Mr Andrews.." Marcus decided to be formal, this man seemed like he would prefer formality. "...What is it you do for a living?"
Marcus tried to seem like he was genuinely interested in finding out more from first impressions, but truth be told he had plainly forgotten. Probably something important, though, the man seemed to have that air of high job position about him.

Right there and then Vergil broke into the conversation. "There... appears to be a problem."
The VI said with a slow voice, his processing cores being strained under the burden of independent thinking. It was hard for a VI, but this situation was not according to protocol. Not at all. There was very little information on what to do in a scenario like this.

The station was close now, just a few hundred kilometers. It was visible on the long range cameras, in orbit above the large gas giant Threshold. There was just one problem, the station didn't respond to Vergil's hails, and he could sense no activity.
Vergil was not made for situations like these.

"We are close to the station now, but I am not getting any responses to my docking requests."

"It's probably just a communications error or some bullshit like that." Silas muttered in response to the VI, not concerned that a problem could be present. These stations were well equipped to deal with any situations that could arise, so the probability of something actually going wrong was low, if not impossible.

"Try another channel." He ordered. "There is another channel, right?"

Marcus was worried. A problem? This was unexpected, and he felt as though, as part of security, that he should take some responsiblity. The one problem was, he never anticipated communication issues.
"Keep trying, Verg." Was all he could say.

Considering it best talk while the talking issue was taking place, Nathan instead got up and stretched, trying to get all his muscles back to normal activity before they ran into any sort of a problem

"If they don't respond, couldn't we manually maneuver the ship in?"

He asked, trying to get all the bases covered just like he did when he was processing finances

Samuel thought through all the possible reasons as to why they weren't receiving signals from the other ship. He didn't get far, though, because he was a doctor, dammit, not a starship engineer.
"Crap, did I say that out loud?" he mumbled. Judging by the reactions of the others, it seemed that he had. Really should learn to keep my thoughts inside my head, he lamented.
