Come on, this isn't the fault of consoles. In Bioshock, you have like 7 weapons and 7 plasmids at a time, and that worked perfectly. It's just the developer's decision not to do that.
Oh dear Lord. I have no intention of picking up this game. It simply doesn't interest me. But The Duke only being able to carry two weapons? This needs to be fixed before the release. This...this is just wrong. These types of games are supposed to be over the top. This will cripple it.
After reading this, I am now done with Duke Nukem - when I watched the teaser and saw his health (Ego) regenerate I was teetering, but now a two weapon limit?!
What about that Homing Rocket gun, that has only 5 shots? Are you telling me that I will drop my shotgun to shoot 5 times and then backtrack to it and pick it up again?
What about the (dumbed down) starter pistol? Does that count as a slot?
So basically this is gonna be a game that you hide behind bushes and get full life, are always carrying your Machine Gun and your Shotgun, except until you are basically forced by context to pick up the railgun cause your in a sports stadium or other set-piece sniper galley.

Classy, and they just couldn't be bothered to implement a better button mapping scheme like pausing the game or holding a shoulder button (or trigger) and using a dpad to select a weapon. That said. I have owned consoles since the days of the Sega Master system, still do and firmly believe that some games belong on the consoles and some on the PC. A mouse/keyboard is better for some stuff, a gamepad is better for some stuff. Thats just the way it is. You wouldnt want to dig a ditch with a fork, no matter how much you love forks.
That is bullshit and they know it! Consoles had FPS games with more than two weapons LONG before Halo started the two-gun craze. This is just them pulling an excuse out of their ass, and pandering to the PC Whiners Gamers to get a few more sales bygoing "See? It's not OUR fault the game is not that good! We had to make changes for the console crowd! We had to uhhh "dumb it down"! That's the phrase you guys always say all the time, right? Yeah, that's what we did for the consoles! But the PC Gamers are gonna eat this up, saying "SEE?! PROOF THAT CONSOLES ARE DUMBING DOWN GAMING! WE WERE RIGHT! SEE? PC GMAERS ARE SO MUCH BETTER, AND THIS IS PROOF!" As if they needed more reasons to have their heads up their asses.
I still think the game is gonna be good. Nothing special, but good. But I can't stand it when devs make excuses, and I REALLY hate it when devs resort to pandering. And pandering to a bunch of people who will ***** about the game anyway to try and justify a design choice that isn't really that bad (I don't like it, but I don't hate it either.) just sickens me.

Two words: weapon wheel. How hard was that Gearbox? You hit a button, the wheel pops up, and you scroll with the analog stick. Oh my god, that is so hard to implement!
The Ego meter is DNFs version of the regenerating healthbar. Duke can never die, his ego just gets bruised. Naturally the logical thing for Duke is to hide and lick his wounds. Goddamnit. The demo was a rollercoaster of emotions. Some fantastic looping and a flat section dull enough to make you go blind. I really dont know to expect, but I think the game will be the same.
