The barbarian seems fundamentally similar to the one from D 2, certainly the basic concept of the character is the same. Also, they've already shown that it shares some powers with it's D 2 predecessor.
Each class comes in both genders now. And there's nothing wrong with being a female wizard. The term is usually associated only with men, but there's no reason a woman can't be a wizard. Oh, and a witch is different from a wizard in more ways than gender anyway.Emperor Inferno said:The wizard class looks cool, but shouldn't it be "witch" since she's a chick?
To paraphrase Yahtzee: It doesn't matter who you are, the moment you're compared to a magical hand that shoots bees, you're going to fucking lose.Emperor Inferno said:Ah, gotcha. I tell ya, I love that zombie wall.
First point: Totally agree.Pyronox said:Because Diablo is supposed to be dark, gothic, evil, scary. This one has statues with smiley faces, and rainbows (which by the way are not a prank by the graphic artists like Mr. Pardo says).
Also, the game was fine as is, and the only way to make it better was the way Hellgate was going, the immersive 3ps/fps-rpg. Sadly it crashed, so we'll never really see it at full potential. No mechanics should have been changed.
Next, there's subscription. No way. Diablo was meant to be played free online. Stupid money-mongering bastards. There's no love for the game anymore, it's just money now. I would rather go broke by making a game that's played online for all eternity than make billions by screwing people up.
Finally, why the HELL did you fire Bill Roper and the Shaefers?? They MADE this game FFS.
Necromancy!st0rmwind said:Alternatively how about a really novel concept? NO CHARACTER CLASSES!
Develop your character from one of several templates, spellcaster warrior or ranger, but then the choices you make as to stats and skills determines what further abilities open up to you as you progress.
Starting with a spellcaster template but putting points into strength and life would eventually produce a character with the ability to cast close range combat-based spells which assist with physical attacks.
Start with a ranger template but invest heavily in energy and dexterity to create a character with long-range nature-based spells and abilities.
In this way dozens of different character builds can be made that can cross over the usual class borders to create hybrids that despite not looking good on paper might produce some unexpected combos that work really well. It would certainly improve the replayability factor limitlessly and make it practically impossible to recreate another identical character.
How did they ruin it? If you don't like Diablo III, don't buy it, and don't play it, no reason to start hating Blizzard for, you know, making games.Pyronox said:But it's my right since Diablo is all my childhood. You ruin one of the best games in my life, I'd hate you too.Emperor Inferno post=9.72912.777545 said:I kinda figured I'd get that reaction from you, I saw your post on the death mechanic thread.Pyronox post=9.72912.777537 said:
You mean you explained that blizzard employee that has a gun pointed to your head that will force you to buy Diablo III against your will? Because I kinda missed that.Pyronox said:Why do you refuse to read shyt before posting? I explained this a THOUSAND times.
