I have many other issues with D3, such as the cartoon art style and lack of skill tree, but the mild annoyance of online only to prevent cheaters and pirates I support.
And I would agree with you, if DRM ever actually DID prevent pirates and cheaters. Seeing as it doesn't actually do that, its only remaining function is to exercise greater control over the paying customers.

Normally I'd say "Fair enough, just play single player for now", But since this game is always-online, it means even people who just want to play alone might be stuck.
I'll probably won't buy it any time soon.

Hum, I think I counted less posts about the issue of log-ins and more posts about not buying the game or complaining that it has feature X or both. I wonder if this counts as 'post unrelated to topic.' Oh well, guess people must love calculus with all these tangents going on.
You don't think someone's readiness to purchase the title or features related to the game's online requirements could possibly be relevant to it's potential log-in issues? Do I have to wait for a story that literally mentions a feature by name before I bring it up even if bares on the topic at hand? If people were talking about The Avengers I would understand.

To those people who keep saying whats the big deal about being online only, you just don't get it. If there is a single player option in a game then you shouldn't have to be online to play it. Simple as that. I don't know what else I can say to get it through your thickheaded stubborness. Also those who keep going on about how they don't have a problem being online they've always had that, here's a newsflash, not everyone is you and not everyone has the same benefits as you do there is a distinct lack of empathy from these types of people who refuse to try and understand the situation of others.

Anyway rant over and just saying the always online did kill my interest in Diablo 3. Also seeing that picture of the new Diablo I find it looks too much like Kerrigan Queen of Blades to be considered Diablo now.

I won't be having any launch issues,
by using the perfect failsafe, of not buying it.

...is that the right answer? Is it the pirates?

Or did you mean the Swedes? Damn those Swedes!! >;o
Yep, that's the right answer.
D3 is about as pirate-able as WoW. Same tech. So have fun with completely sans-DRM client that requires your pirate friends to write a private server to actually draw any NPCs or items.

I know, right? Those pesky details ...

What i don't understand why in _every_ d3 thread there are ppl crying about how always online DRM killed their interest in the game. Why are 'them' then looking through these topics, and keep posting about how you don't care about the game anymore.

No offense to anyone by any means. Personally i am just getting pissed to see this always online crying. I sympathise if some of you don't (whatever the reason is then..) have access to the internet 24/7, but seriously, stfu already.

Maybe... People want the game not to be online-only and are frustrated that it is?

And here we go again complaining about complainers. I thought during the ME3 deal people would've learned something.
Personally I wish both sides would shut the fuck up for awhile and give me ears a break...

I don't understand how anyone can support a company that thinks changing the lord of terror into this [http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fimages4.wikia.nocookie.net%2F__cb20111216052807%2Fdiablo%2Fimages%2Fthumb%2F4%2F4e%2FDiablo_Raneman009c.jpg%2F282px-Diablo_Raneman009c.jpg&h=HAQGtaKP5AQH-vxzYTkGO7HwGvS_l0-J5zHTR6mccT_7rrQ&enc=AZOwtoTiqjbAb5mwy2sXOt-yEA1JAG_i-7oHaAg_2KROj_OV6T80L35OS0UJHJ8b8L9UBH9t35Gyb2V13Opb7FuC] is a good idea.
You know what the funny thing is? When asked why they're making Diablo look like a girl, Blizzard's answer was: "Diablo is not bound by our genders" or some shit to that extent. So if Diablo is not bound by our human bodies, why the fuck does he start resembling a chick after he
possesses the walking retcon Leia?
What, you don't like girls?

It's funny to see people who complain about the RMAH also complain about it not being an offline game...

It's clear that your 'opinion' is the cries and whims of ignorance.

(Also sucks to have bad connection, QQ fellas.)

This is why I'm somewhat glad I'm getting the game a day after launch.

Pre-order comes to Poland on 15th, but it will get to my town on 16th...

Oh my god. I might have to wait a whole 40 seconds before logging in. The horror!

Whiny brats. Who the hell wrote this piece?

Blizzard recomends players go and register their BattleTags right now [http://us.battle.net/support/en/article/battletagfaq#q1] to avoid the inevitable new user rush, and presumably to ensure you score that hilarious "HarryPothead420" user name before anyone else thinks of it.
Small point. BattleTags are not unique. Half a dozen people can get the name "HarryPothead420", considering you get a completely random #2578 number attached it upon creation anyway.

If it's so clear I'm sure you can explain it in text.

My connection is fine, and it will probably stay that way. But if it wasn't, that would be a pretty unnecessary insult, don't you think? Does it hurt so bad that not everyone likes your toy?

You don't wait 40 seconds before logging in, you wait 40 seconds before trying again. Who knows how many times you'll have to do that? It's not uncommon for multiplayer games like this to be totally unplayable upon release. We don't know how bad it will be, but apparently Blizzard anticipates it will be bad enough to give us a head's up.

I'll just go without. 60 bucks is too much to pay for this game. Given how little I care, I think 6 bucks is too much.

Now that's a bolony argument if I ever heard one.

Blizzard announce throttling measures that will actually prevent log in servers from being overloaded. And people read this as THIS LAUNCH WILL BE UNPLAYABLE! Yet they are saying: "We took measures to prevent log in server overload and this is what we did."

How the hell does that make any sense? One log in from same IP per 40 seconds just means people cannot connect spam the server in eagerness. Basically same as chat spam prevention system used in public chat within game. It's not even new.

Of course Themis Media yellow press style does not help at all in getting the message across.

Fine, it's bologna. These games often have a rocky start. I don't see what you're so worked up for.
