LOL this is why I buy all my games on disk.

OT- The artical nor the e-mail from EA specified what was inappropriate about his posts. If he was beraking the terms of service in his post then good on EA. Maybe people should learn they don't have to stand up for game developers in the developer's forums.

Just want to say to everyone who is posting without reading this FIRST PAGE post by "Scorched_Cascade" you're making yourself look foolish.

Okay I've trawled a bit (protip:Google caches all Bioware's threads even the deleted ones) and those that have been through his post history say:

Just want to add this little bit in here. It's a small extract from any standard EULA that you agree to. While it isn't a Bioware or even an EA one it makes no difference, this part is always the same.

Your acquired rights are subject to your compliance with this Agreement. The term of your License shall start on the date that you install or otherwise use the Software and ends on the earlier date of either your disposal of the Software or Licensor's termination of this Agreement

So basically: you break the agreement, you lose your license to play. If it's in the agreement that if they ban your forum account they ban your game and that the two are tied together then he has no reason to complain. You really should read the EULA, knowing is half the battle.

On the one hand I think the banning of a game is a very severe punishment that really is over the top, I have no sympathy for the guy. He'd already heard of what happened to the other guy, he should have read the EULA and he shouldn't have been a dick.

I'm in full support of EA and Bioware at the moment. Care to change my mind; go ahead.

They can write anything they want in a contract, however, it was noted in another forum post that use of unreasonable clauses can be reversed and challenged, legally.
