EA: Crysis 2 Will Be a "Halo Killer"

Sigh...
Nothing can kill god (if he exists that is) and Halo is god. Like it or not, gotta accept facts. We'll see if Crysis 2 sells 8.1 million copies just on the 360
EDIT: Companies make themselves look silly by saying such things. Because you are admitting another product is better and thats what you are aspiring to be. Rub it in after the fact, not before.

If any game ends up being a "-killer", no one tends to remember. Does anyone remember Duke Nukem 3D or Half-Life as "the Doom-killer?" For RTS, what game was the "Warcraft II-killer"? Being a game-killer is all about hype...if the game succeeds, no one cares if it "killed" another game.
Despite the fact that I can't wait for this game to come out and to play it, there's a small part of me that hopes this game bombs and gets critically destroyed just to shut them up... seems like their tactic this year is to bash other games like poor deluded fanboys.
I have always hated the term to for the same reasons, and quite frankly i'm starting to get bored of people involved with Crysis 2 bashing other games. I think this is the 4th thread i have seen now about people involved with Crysis 2 Bashing and/or bragging about how it's going to beat another game.Armored Prayer said:
Why don't they just focus more on making the game good and finishing it rather than wasting time bragging about how its going to beat another game. It's going to look poorly on them if after all this bragging about how the game is going to be awesome and going to be better than games like Halo, they release it and it doesn't live up to it's expectations and turns out to be a great letdown.

Didn't the developers of Haze say the same thing? And look what happened there! I'm not denying that Crysis 2 will be at least decent but I don't understand why before a game's out, they want to compare it to another game
Heck they can call it whatever Killer they want, the game still looks awesome........and that is all that matters to me

I am completely in favour of tarring and feathering anyone who says "this game will kill that game" or anything like that (replace game with social networking site, etc), and then shipping them off to a chinese coal mine.
Funnily enough, plenty of Bioware people, that have had that term brought to them in face-to-face conversations, have stated fairly openly that they hate that term themselves too. Seems like they're aware of how dumb it would be to try and 'compete' and would rather just focus on their game for a change.Aylaine said:

I just hope to god heres some substance behind all these accusations because if Crysis 2 comes out and theres not then it will be ruined as a franchise
