I have always hated the term to for the same reasons, and quite frankly i'm starting to get bored of people involved with Crysis 2 bashing other games. I think this is the 4th thread i have seen now about people involved with Crysis 2 Bashing and/or bragging about how it's going to beat another game.Armored Prayer said:Man I always hated the term "____ killer."
To me it just seems they only created the game just to beat another game. It sounds unprofessional and slightly douchey.
But thats just what I think of the term.

No logical reason? It's for PR. Hype sells games.StriderShinryu said:Or you could, you know, actually worry about making your own damn game. *sigh* And this is why people (for no logical reason) bash Halo.

how many games have claimed to be "halo killers"?
Funnily enough, plenty of Bioware people, that have had that term brought to them in face-to-face conversations, have stated fairly openly that they hate that term themselves too. Seems like they're aware of how dumb it would be to try and 'compete' and would rather just focus on their game for a change.Aylaine said:Just like all the WoW Killers. I suspect that the new Star Wars game coming out will face a similar fate. :/Marq said:Sigh.
If you announce it as a Halo-killer, then it most certainly won't be. You can only make these claims after it's happened, else it won't happen at all.
