and here i thought they are going to actually announce something new....

Mirror's Edge - Maybe its going to be ok if this one actually works properly and isnt just a bad rollecoaster with bad mechanics. Oh, and maybe they will tell us more so i dont feel like im some douche drugrunner instead of a hero.

Mass Effect: Andromeda - we knew this is coming but this might be interesting. Maybe they will finally fix shooting in it so its going to be a good game outside of the story elements.

Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 - how is that even on the list of things worth anouncing?

Battlefield - we knew this was coming.

Titanfall - oh, i completely forgot about that one. so they are actually going through with trying to revive that complete failure of a game?

it is calling it an "embarrassment of riches"
Now I enjoy a good EA bashing as much as the next guys, but these things don't mean the same thing. "Embarrassment of riches" is an idiom that means an overabundance of something, while it has much older origins it's a term you often here in pro sports. Mr. Moore here is boasting that they have a good lineup coming out in 2016, he isn't actually "embarrassed" about anything.

I mean is it even proper to use the quotes around 'embarrass' where the guy said 'ment' and you change it to 'ed'? I suppose some liberties can be allowed, but like I just said the manner its used and the manner being quoted don't actually mean the same thing.
This is literally the most important comment ever posted on a news article.

Oh my lordi, is this just gaming gossip magazine now? Peter Moore is like the Nigel Farage of our country; a backwards dinosaur still employed by backwards, yet profitable employers. He relishes the attention. no matter how bad. Stop feeding him! Sequel. Sequel. Sequel. Squeal squeal squeal.
I'm sorry if I disagree; but I wouldn't count COO's announcements in a conference as "gossip" (no matter how retarded special they are).

If this is the "amazing" lineup they have for 2017 I dread to think of how awful next year will be for them.

So Mass Effect 4 got delayed? Really? Well shiiiit!! I thought they were aiming for a 2016 holiday release. Oh well, here's hoping they use the extra time they got to make it a really great game.
The exact same thing happened to the last game. ME3 was supposed to be released holiday season 2011. And when it was delayed to March 2012 I said exactly the same thing you just said. And, depending on who's opinion you ask for, ME3 was still an unmitigated disaster.

Good luck with that EA.
BioWare Montreal is an awfully young studio, it would be strange for all of that to have happened since it was founded in 2009. If Mass Effect 4 were being developed by BioWare Edmonton though, you'd be right. Remember, BioWare isn't a studio anymore, it's an organ of EA. There are three studios going by the name "BioWare" now.

Battlefront sequels when Battlefront itself doesn't even have all its DLC and the stuff that would make it a flushed out game in it. My sides.

Thank God I didn't get suckered in by the Star Wars hype. This is just confirmation for my refusal to give EA money even when properties I adore are on the line. Its just not worth it.

Is there anybody who knows anything about video games and doesn't think EA is a disaster area? I'm amazed Moore wasn't laughed at in the conference.

The only game in that lineup that even remotely interests me is the new Mass Effect, and even that will be a bargain bin purchase for me, if at all. I can see how Moore would be embarrassed by that lineup, but certainly not due to outstanding quality. And the guy needs to realize that especially these days, a high profile for a game doesn't really mean jack shit any more.

ME Andromeda seems to have the most ridiculous premise yet, being set in the future, and another galaxy [Correct me if I'm wrong here, but pretty sure I'm right and heard that, and Andromeda isn't just a funny moniker for it]. So, not only have we magically managed to travel the few tens of millions of years to reach the Andromeda Galaxy,
Well from the trailer we saw on N7Day it appears that the game starts before the end of Mass Effect 3, with a experimental ship being sent as an 'Ark' to the Andromeda Galaxy in case the Reapers win. Smart place to begin as they don't have to even touch the endings to Mass Effect 3. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rn98FdSg-Fo

Eh, a bit more reasonable start at least, though it raises yet more issues about the whole plot. After their whole "Completely change the galaxy and Reapers are gods" end to ME3 it kinda throws anything they could do for the future out of whack. Had there been a canonic victory over the Reapers, and they had themed it more along the lines of us reverse engineering their technology, and uniting to advance the galaxy into a new era... Sure, I could buy that in a few hundred to a few thousand years we'd make it to Andromeda and start building some Mass Relays there and all that good stuff. We wouldn't have to worry about what happened to the Reapers, we'd have the tech level to do so, and the entire galaxy wouldn't have to be green glowie people... or not, depending on ending.

Unfortunately they tied everything together in the perfect way that any sequel fits rather questionably within the lore they've set up for the universe, though, they haven't really cared about that since 2 so I guess nothing's different there.

What hype was there? As far as I recall every announcement got people to go "oh hell no" or other exclamations of disbelief and despair.

EDIT: Oh god, was there an update while I was posting this or is my browser throwing a fit? So much white!

No, quotation marks are used for direct quotes, meaning they need to surround only the exact words the person you're quoting said. They are not to be used for paraphrasing or for using an alternate tense or form of a word they did use. The header here is amateur hour bullshit.
EA is bullshit too. Committees of suits don't make for good game design. People demanding changes of developers or additions just so they can have a hand in the game when development is already underway and budgets and deadlines already set don't make for good games. It is long past time that company should have learned to back off of their developers and until they do they simply aren't capable of making decent products. Oh yeah, charging $110 for a shooter is bullshit too.
