Well that was the single greatest PR stunt ever if only because of the fact that only people on the Escapist would hear about it.

I raise by one webcomic

But I think Yahtzee should send a package back to EA. A picture of him gleefully smashing the box and a postcard from hell. Just to see their reaction.

Three things come to mind as soon as I read this:

1. This is probably the best publicity stunt I've seen in a good few years, creative and just stupid enough to be considered nerd-viable.

2. Yahtzee as the target means that shit just got real. No but really, it's good to see someone like that getting the attention, it proves just how much the scary anglo man in the big hat is pressing on these people.

3. Despite their impressive attempts at attention- Dante's Inferno has already displayed itself to the public as a very generic God of War rip. I read Inferno, Purgatory and Paradise and I had high hopes for the game, but on seeing it I'm just as quick to confine it to the bargain bin as so many others.

Props to EA for such a clever stunt, but in the end that's all it really was was a stunt. After years of them being the biggest jerks of the industry and now Activision taking that throne it seems like EA is actually trying.

You have to hand it to EA. Their marketing campaign for this game is absolutely genius.
If only their game design was as good as their marketing. I've played a lot of games by EA, and none of them showed consistent design, variety or lastability. They are truly in the industry for the cash, and in the worst possible way.

Any footage? I'd love to see that.
EDIT@ Oh, wait, never mind. Didn't anyone have a camera phone or something?

that's pretty funny, but i would send EA a box filled with golden orb spiders, the bird eating size, and send it back to EA, only hype the spiders up on coke, and arm them with bayonets.

This is absolutely brilliant. The question is, was it sent to Yahtzee for the pure reason that his wrathful critiques know no bounds, or was this sent to other people as well.

Haha I almost fell of my chair with laughter haha. A video of Yahtzee smashing it up would have been the perfect to go with the article.

I do believe an official gauntlet has been thrown and as such we call all sit back and wait to so what device Yahtzee see's fit to respond with... why do I get the feeling something very bad is coming.
